Right back on with it. It was probably some sort of large cargo helicopter. Or at least that would explain it. It almost looked like a big version of the air ambulance. But with the moon shining behind it I could barely make out the colours. I do live close to the motorway so it could be something to do with that - though it did sound like a V8 engine was being revved hard right outside my house. And I am not trying to play tricks with the camera, I forgot that it was on 5s release at the time (and etc).

To sum up, I failed. Perhaps the craft went to Halo in Leeds for a rave or something. :D

First one looks like a slight curve was done when you had the shutter open but tbh can't really tell anything as the light is so faint.

Second one you moved the camera in a "v" shape when you had the shutter open, notice the moon has a similar blur shape.

Go over to the photography forum and there are loads of examples of people using this technique for fun. :)

It was a chinook.

I had one go low over the house just now, solid green light, flashing red light and a noise like the sky being torn in two. Chinook, no question.

All aircraft have red and green steady Nav lights on either wing tip Green is left Red is Right. The flashing Red was more than likely the anti Collision light this is usually Red when on the ground and for take off but switched to a clear white strobe whilst Flying. The red is so it does not blind ground crew and other aircraft whilst on the ground..

If it sounded like a helicopter but louder and made some tight turns it may well have been a Predator UAV. They fly these all over the Uk practicing they sound like a chopper just a bit quicker if that makes sense.. They can also turn very tight as there is no pilot to worry about..

If all the above sounds wrong best bet is a Klingon warbird and we are all Doomed...
