Teeth Whitening - Anyone done it?

My wife's a dentist and she says that the laser treatment is temporary and a total waste of money.

She made me a mould and got me the bleach but i haven't used it yet. The bleach cost her £10. Her surgery gets it for £5 and as mentioned above they're then sold off for around £60 or more to the patients.
Anyway She's had hers whitened and it does look good.

My wife is a dentist too :) She's had the laser treatment. Although temporary, (it's all temporary if you think about it) it looks incredible! She did say it was mighty painful afterwards however!

My sister got it done, looked ok but was blindingly obviouse. It just gives me the impression that people are too lazy to look after their teeth decently, brushing twice a day is not exactly taxing and that is all that is needed to keep your teeth in a decent condition.

Also as people have said, if you smoke espcialy, just send me the £180, it will be just as well spent.

If you have a lower level of enamel I think that can give the slightly stained or tinged yellow appearance since 'dentine' (I think that's how you spell it) is yellow iirc.

I did this and would recommend it. I wasn't happy with the yellow tinge on my teeth, even although they were in good health.

I went for the custom trays route but only paid a fraction of the price because I'm friendly with the dental technician.

I notice a huge difference and a lot of people have commented on them. They did make my teeth super sensitive / painful for a few hours after though. Something to bear in mind. Oh yeah - and it was Carbamide peroxide 17% with custom trays (almost like mouthgaurds)

Anyway TTIUWP:

Just get yourself crest whitestrips advanced seal and you will be amazed with the results. For once I got a product that actually works.

Don't bother about the crest clasic or premium strips cause you can't keep the bloody things on your teeth were the advanced seal secures like glue. Worth the extra money.

Yes, I had it done. My teeth are fine but I had it in my head that they needed to be whiter. Not worth the £180 it cost as the result was minimal to say the least.

I also went a bit heavy with the bleach to begin with resulting in bleeding gums. Despite the dentists saying it was a 21 day program, they wouldn't give me anymore bleach after I'd ran out after under two weeks, not unless I paid £60 :o
£180 isn't what I'd consider proper whitening. I've done the same program (bleach at home) and it just didn't work.

I've been looking to whiten my teeth up a bit as I'm a serious tea drinker.
Unfortunately my teeth are pretty thin after years of abuse when I was much younger and didn't know any better, so the sensitivity of the hardcore bleaching methods really put me off.
Those Crest strips sound just what I'm after, I've ordered a pack, thanks all! :)

crest whitening strips, I used em cost me £25 used them for 7 days and they made a noticable difference to the whitness of my teeth (not bright white or anything but not yellowy like they used to be) I didnt find i had any issues with sensitivity but I did have trouble keeping the lower strip on and found it would just fall off after about 10 mins

this

just get some crest white strips of e-bay and you're sorted - maybe get a thorough clean/polish from your dental hygienist a few days before (though don't use the white strips on the same day you've just had a polish) and you'll likely get a similar end result as the £300 lazer rip off treatment
