PETROL to clean CPU?

Homeless trying to get drunk? Even a thimblefull will suck all the moisture from your mouth and get you retching and vomiting everywhere.

If you manage to keep any down you will die or at least do some serious irreparable liver damage.

In other words...do not drink...it ain't ethanol.

Isopropyl Alcohol from chemist, can get 600ml for around £5 & that will last you years & years.

Just checked that link Gurusan gave above, on a famous auction site you can get 250ml Isopropyl Alcohol for £2.49 inc P&P.

Eesh, Petrol on a CPU? nice

Personally and from the look of it, the majority would think it to be way to abbrassive.

As said above, Get something nicer. I have some Akasa citrus stuff that does the job

It's too late, anyway just tested Operation flashpoint 2 on it, highest it got was 55.

So all is well right now, i only dabbed a little bit of petrol on a cloth. so i doubt it will go up in flames.

It's the fan on the side panel that stops me sticking the panel back on. Now the actual see through plastic panel. So apart from removing the fan i can't put side panel back on. Will need new case in future.

Thank you to the guy who recommend the CNPS 10X Quiet cooler. It's dam good and worth the 40 pound. That AMD stock cooler needs setting on fire.

Well if anything happens, then the petrol will come in handy for his shop.;)

All right people telling me not to use it, but open to opinions.

Like the Acetone some saying use it others saying avoid.

When I changed mobo I went to boots to get some, but they thought I was a homeless guy trying to get drunk. I will try online to avoid this awkwardness with stupid employees who "didn't buy my excuse" of trying to clean a cpu heatsink. *facepalm*

Hah yeah that happened to me, went to like 4 chemists and they were like isopropyl what? paid about £6 for a 500ml bottle and some lint free gloves.

What you said you already used it, just go buy some proper stuff already, im thinking your trying to get to 250 posts or something.

Google it, and a lot of Americans use it.

Americans use gasoline not petrol duh..

Google: petrol to clean cpu
First result your post thats a sign of fail.

Can I ask something OP? After almost everyone in this thread reccomended that you not use petrol, why did you use it anyway? Seems like there was no point whatsoever in asking for our advice?

Because i had no other choice other than ordering stuff and waiting days. He assured me it was fine, and infact if got him to fit the cooler he would have used it anyway...
