How long does it take you to build your PC?

if its quite literally a "get it up and running asap", then about half an hour +windows installation depending on how handy you are with a screwdriver. if you want a neat build, then think around 90mins-2hours +windows installation for cable routing. however, if your case has loads of cable routing holes (eg corsair 800D), then this might shave a fair bit of time off...

I took 2 hrs on my first build, but I spent a bit of time doing some cable management and making it all purty. It's worth it to not have to go back and do it again....which I did anyway.

If I was just putting a system together and it all went well (That means the cooler goes on easily, the front panel is wired up properly first time) then probably less than 30 minutes. However, add cable management and getting it the way I like it then a lot longer.

I always do it neatly. It probably takes me a bit longer because I have a fairly old, but good quality aluminium (i.e. big and heavy ;)) case. I noticed today adding a hard drive, graphic card and some memory to a new HP machine (*shiver*) at work that all the neat levers and easy-fit slots does speed things up quite significantly.

Main build: Maybe an hour
Cable management, tidying up: 30-40 mins
Installing OS, configuring everything: 2-3 hours
Watercooling: ~2-3 hours (+24h for leak testing)

Total time: 2-3 days.

if i'm just throwing it together about 30 mins, if i'm doin it nice and tidy (which i do for every machine apart from my own lol) around the hour mark with maybe some cable management at a later time if needed.
but i have been building them for 16 years so i'm quite used to it :)

Can't wait to get my hands on the parts tomorrow. Guess I'll download the motherboard manual to be ultra prepared for once. Already done my backups and prepared my old system for decomission.

Couple of hours at most for an air cooled rig. A bit longer depending on the cable tidying and lighting etc.

Couple of days if water-cooled, by the time leak testing is done.

Well you should leak test for at least 24 hours, but that's not really build time as such.

The no keyboard post made me lol.

First build took me a couple of hours to "throw" together.
It took me double that to relocate my latest build into a new case because I took the time to route the cables nicely. Well worth it though, temps drop because of better air flow and it just looks plain nice. :D

I've yet to build a PC without making a blood sacrifice. Usually on the altar of the cooler (the scythe ninja lives up to its name) or on the sharp edges of my wife's cheap case. I usually manage not to bleed on the components so its not too much of a problem.

Now I take my time transferring my parts and doing nice cable managment took 2-3 hours, when I did my first build and did find these forums it did it quickly and it went horriblely wrong had to get brothers emergency help and was rather embarrasing add that to a dead PSU and 70 quid out of pocket never again :)
