It would be a Nissan GT-R for me![]()
This is probably the alcomahol talking, but I swear I'm dead on with the last bit of my earlier post.
'97 Bentley Turbo R...
I see the R8 as more of a competitor to a GTR than an Aston personally. Perhaps it's the ultra modern styling (read:chav tackyness) that makes me think that.

I think it's because it's more of a sports car than a GT car.
The Aston has 4 (Albeit 2 are rather comedy) seats and a big boot, the Audi has a small boot and 2 seats.
Am I the only one thinking £40-£60k is a lot to drop on a 5-6 year old DB9?
I seem to remember in 2004 Clarkson said something like;
So if you want a “safe” car you buy a Volvo. If you want a “reliable” car, you buy a Volkswagen. And if you have a small “penis” you buy a BMW. If you want a “fast” car, buy a Ferrari. If you want a “Volkswagen”, buy a Bentley Continental GT.
If you want a “perfect” car, you simply have to have a DB9.
Did he buy one?
i swear in one of the episodes he mentioned he owns DBS convertible one..
Yeah, go mad and spend £40k under his budget on (what is essentially) an almost 20 year old Vauxhall family saloon car.he could go mad and buy a lotus carlton?
