how wrong you are
i do like many cars i just think this looks too "soft" for an m3.. 
all the previous ones looked aggressive..

I do wonder where some people get these ideas from, arguably the E92 M3 is the furthest removed from the normal 3 Series yet - go and look at an E36 M3, its utterly identical bar the wheels, mirrors and a small bar in the front bumper to a late factory 318iS or 328i Sport!
Nostalgia eh, it aint what it used to be.
M cars used to be very subtle, with each new generation they become more and more standoutish compared to the previous models.
But the understated look of the M cars has always been a good thing to many, the fire-breathing car in sensible trousers, looks like a relatively ordinary BMW at a glance, but goes like a Saturn 5 rocket. They aren't hot hatches and they aren't super cars, although they do provide super-car performance ...so why should they look mental ?
BMW did try something "fresh and new" when Chris Bangle designed the last range, they got badly criticised for it, only the face-lifts to the 5 and 7 and the more conservative looking 3 series kept things in check I'd say.
I still like the E34, E39, E46, E38 and E31 (which has no equivalent exactly) better than the newer versions from a looks perspective. Yes, even the pensionable E34, I did mean that.
I'm by no means the only one who hasn't been very impressed with BMW's louder more in your face designs of the 21st century either.
My point is, I often hear people call them bland or uninteresting looking, even in M Sport guise ...but a lot of BMW's customers like them that way ...they have presence and some details to differentiate them from their regular brethren ...but they don't display their performance too much to the average passer by.
I don't think the face-lift M3 is particularly quietly styled though, not with all that carbon fibre ...which I must say I don't really like tbh. All the new M cars stand out waaay more than their predesessors.

Nonsense, every M car has looked subtle and purposeful.
Have you ever seen an M3? I suspect now, as its quite noticeably different to an E92 330i, for example. It has different front bumper, rear bumper, front wings, bonnet, rear wings, mirrors, roof.. every panel is different.
Contrast this to the E39 M5 where the only major difference between an E39 M5 and an E39 530i Sport was the mirrors and the missing T-bar in the front bumper. Ditto E36.
You are entitled to your opinion that the E92 isn't 'in your face' but to claim previous M cars were in ways the E92 isn't is just completely false.

I for one stated when the E92 M3 was released that it looked too soft, not as "beefy as the last M3".
I still stand by that, but my opinion was heavily based on the overall shape/look of the E92 compared to the E46. IMO the E92 got too curvy and round.
However, I still love the look of them and I'd have one tomorrow if I had the money because they still look fantastic. I just think they moved away from the powerhouse "beefy" look that the E46 had.

Agree that the LCI changes are pretty hard to spot if you're not an avid BM fan but for me the entire attraction to the M series is the old 'wolf in sheeps clothing'.

all the carbon fibre stuff are accessories from BMW's performance range
Its already available for the saloon, they are debuting the stuff for the coupe at the geneva motorshow.
The only part that has really been facelifted on the M3 is the rear lights, its almost exactly the same.
