Definitely watching Gundam Unicorn

Without spoiling it for you, I'll only say that you won't be disappointed, especially if you've already seen enough Gundam series to spot the hints/shout-outs. Heck, the dub trailer alone was enough to "make" me pre-order the Blu-Ray ...

As for Spring 2010, I'm not interested in any of the series - not even the ones on noitaminA (my usual staple block). With the exception of the VOTOMS OVA, I'll probably be sticking with FMA:Brotherhood/DuRaRaRa!!/Kimi ni Todoke.

Speaking of which, chapter 105 of the FMA manga should be published next week. After what happened in the previous chapter, I'm eagerly awaiting to see how this will pan out!

I doubt you'll be sticking with Kimi ni Todoke as it's been running since October and is due to finish it's first season at the end of this month (i.e. before the Spring seasons start) ... and I haven't seen mention of a second season yet.

Well it is a long awaited treat for old-school U.C Gundam fans that is for sure.

If the original series was ever remade, Unicorn's old-school character design in modern animation quality is an absolute perfect fit for what it could look like. And as we are in the HD generation, even better!

I know it's more manga than anime but for anyone who reads it, it looks like the second Sasuke/naruto fight is going to be this week/coming weeks :D

No doubt Sasuke will pull yet another Sussanoo upgrade out of his ass because he gets a little bit miffed.

It probably won't be a full on fight like the VotE fight at the end of part 1, simply because Kishi has said that their fight will ring in the end of the story, which isn't going to happen any time soon.

I've already seen the first episode, I'm hoping the one listed is the next instalment but either way I'll be watching/buying it

After watching the last episodes of When They Cry it is safe to assume that there are just so many more questions than answers.

Disc 5 of the first series started to piece together some of the story which had been shown earlier but disc 6 really confused me.

I did pick up certain things from disc 6 but by that time my head was just so jumbled by the way they told the different stories. I get that they were sort of stuck in time and as one story finished, another started.

I understand that more answers are available in the second series which I can't find anywhere but nearly every customer review I have seen says that series 2 was crap.

When They Cry Season 2 has not be licensed for a R1 (or R2 UK) release (as of yet ... but the way Sentai have been recently I wouldn't put it past them) which is why it won't be order-able.

On an unrelated note it appears that Funi will be editing it's Vampire Bund release due to the content not being suitable for R1 in places.

Thanks for the info mate, I would definitely get the second series if it came out as I would really like to see the conclusion to the story.

I thought the characters were excellent, they were well developed throughout the different stories. I liked the art style as well, very bright with some great filtering and hdr effects.

I just felt by the end that as a answer was presented to you another two questions appeared. I watched the 26 episodes over 4-5 days, I think it would even harder to follow if you watched a few episodes here and there.

OK that sounds daft, yes it's got a loli (several hundred years old!) who likes to be naked but it's showing no more than the changing into magical armour sequences of nanoha unless they're already censoring the ones I've seen :o

IIRC the next episode isn't due for months yet. I'd be surprised if we see it before or even around the same time as the 00 movie (slated September last I checked).

I'd love to be proved wrong though.

I have a feeling I read somewhere that the next OVA episode is due in October sometime, but I could be wrong.

Watched the second half of Gundam SEED so far today .... not too bad although doesn't make me want to run out and buy Gundam SEED Destiny. Definitely improved near the end.

About to start watching Durarara!!! (currently 9 episodes out) as it looks interesting from the online videos and blurbs!

Ryuugamine Mikado is a boy who longs for the exciting life of the big city. At the invitation of his childhood friend Masaomi, he transfers to a school in Ikebukuro. Masaomi has warned him about people he doesn't want to cross in the city: a champion fighter, an informant, and a mysterious gang called "Darazu." Nervous from Masaomi's stories, Mikado witnesses an urban legend on his first day in the city, the Headless Rider astride a black motorcycle. From then on, the existence of supernatural cases and a gang called the Yellow Turbans will rise to the surface, and Ikebukuro will pushed to the breaking point...

I'm enjoying it but it seriously has no continuous plot whatsoever, it's episodes are completely different to the last one in terms of story - well atleast upto where I am :o.

Not complaining about that :p Sometimes it's good to have something totally different each episode! Animation is really nice in HD too!

At least the long wait means it should be hopefully be consistant with the top-notch quality animation.

You'd probably be disappointed with Destiny as it has some series issues with some consistency of the plot and some sub-plots vanishing altogther, an annoying new main character, and heavy use of re-used animated scenes. Apart from that, some nice new Gundams (Upgraded & new) and even more decent music. The Space Opera and old fashioned Star Trek like pieces are some of the most epic parts in the soundtrack.

Would Shin be the annoying character? He'd be my choice. I kind of count SEED and DESTINY as the one big series tbh, rather than a sequel to the other.

I would agree that some sub-plots really didn't get fleshed out enough (the background of and elements concerning a certain Masked Man for instance).

Gundam Seed has some pretty good music tbh. Rei Tanaka's singing is always nice to listen to with some really good songs as both Lacus and Meer. Some are lovely to listen to and the ones done as Meer were pretty nice and upbeat :) The various battle themes seem to fit the battles pretty well aswell.

Who else is more annoying than that angry little emo? :p

And yes, the "Masked Man" was the most stupid decision ever for the character. Also a lot more could have been done for Emperor Palpa......Durandal and "Laser Barrel" :D as well.

Just watched the first two episodes of Sora No Manimani which seems pretty entertaining so far. It reminds me allot of bamboo blade to be honest, just instead of kendo it's astronomy.

Sounds interesting ... haven't seen it but just checked and it is in my backlog so I may get around to watching it eventually ...

edit: Finished watching Sentai's release of Tayutame - Kiss on my Deity - last night. Quite an amusing little series, not great but quite fun. Surprisingly for a new Sentai release there are actually extras beyond the using OP, ED and trailers. The second disk also has the extra little short 3-4 minute episodes as well.

Next up is to finish off disk 6 of Ah My Buddha ...
