Multiplayer is just gunship spam and nothing else. There seems to be various bugs at the moment with vanishing ACU's randomly happening. I've had 4 multi games so far (when I could actually connect right) and it was just all air spam as UEF can get gunships faster via the tech tree.

The reason that works so well is there's no real counter. Fighters cost almost as much, and no flak\AoE weapons to defend with either. I know SC1 had its issues, but the balance wasn't this broken on release... :(

Yup, DoW 2 and this are pathetic, personally I wasn't a huge fan of the first Sup Com, it was too, well, I loved TA, massively, they weren't good enough.

Far too few units, far to similar units, between TA and SC1 it just felt like an updated engine, with almost the same but worse units, worse gameplay, less fun, less intensive and more irritating, TA just felt bagloads more fun all over.

This, is a freaking travesty to be honest, massively over simplified, playing through the campaign is laughable. It looks absolutely shocking for the most part, the terraine is ok, or even not bad for a RTS, but the units and buildings look lifeless and useless. As everyones said, its who gets the most gunships first mad rush of crap. I really don't like any of the land units, naval units are actually not completely terrible, but not great. THe land unit experimentals seem worthless, considering they are so horribly vunerable to the gunships, they suck. The air experimentals are, meh, aswell.

Turrets, the better ones, are way to far down the tech tree and as its all about air superiority, you'd be mad not to max out the air tree first, and it would be game over before you do anything else useful.

Just nothing really redeeming about it at all, hell, I'd actually have prefered a level for level, unit for unit, complete remake of TA with updated graphics, that works, than play this tosh :(

I just had a quick look at the Multiplayer Lobby... Where is the rest of it? lol

Is there no chat lobbies? It looks like how it would look on a Console totally basic(dumbed down) and missing a lot of features.

If it remains like this i doubt the online side will last.

Ok i've finally got it going and i really wanted to give it a fair go as i really liked TA and SC1 and i went into it with a totally open mind.

I think you guys are being too nice about it! its absolutely horrific. They've butchered absolutely EVERYTHING that made SC1 good.

I just don't know where to start? the engineers not being able to help build? the stupid tree system? the annilihation of the resource system that made the game so unique? the removal of the tier system! (tier 1/2/3 etc), the experiementals being really cheap to buy and feel somehow really underwelming? theres just no sense of "oh my god he's got an experimental! run!!!", the megabot thing is pathetic!! Want a nuke? got 14 experience points? cool..all you need is about 800 metal and about 2mins 30...arrgggh!

I absolutely hate it. Theres lots i've missed off....like the total lack of units/tanks in general...the STUPID reliance on higher ranked tanks....god i could go on all day...!!!!!

I'm actually enjoying it. Sorry...

But then I really liked Dawn of War 2 and thought that was an improvement over Dawn of War.

I would say that Supreme Commander was certainly a better game but it isn't stopping me from enjoying Supreme Commander 2.

So can you actually "point" your units in the final release or is it just big directionless squares like the demo?

They just arrange themselves in whatever way they see fit, bumping and bumbling into each other on tight maps with narrow passages. On one of the latter Aeon maps that featured in the early game video trailers (features a chasm with a platform like base) the units just bunch up and get stuck on the platforms leaving themselves open to gunship/bomber fire.

Nice Read :)

I've actually had some good games online now, so I'm coming around to it. It plays very differently to the first one, that's for sure!

It's selling so well on Steam that it is no longer on the front page along with the new releases lol

Massive rts fan but found this a bit...meh

I've noticed the price is steadily dropping, wonder what sales were like?

Still €49.99(£45) for us Irish, how much in the UK? Of course I can just buy it off that rain-forest site for £24.... good old Steam rip-off!
