Motors forum to the rescue?

Since he wants "different", how about a Mazda/Eunos Cosmo Type-S with the 2 litre twin turbo rotary engine?

Fair enough.

I'm failing to see how a giant, grey depressed fish can look menacing though. :D

It does look like a fish!

I thought of the new chem brothers album when i saw it.

Then i wondered why so i googled it and found the track "the salmon dance" is the only one ive heard of and salmon = fish. wierd.

What about a Lotus Carlton? He could also consider a Caterham R500. Failing that, has he considered a '10 plate Focus Econetic? Then there is the oddball choice - what about a VW Transporter TDI?

How could you not suggest a passat tdi ? :o:o:o

We're not yanks, it's Beemer for cars in English. :)

If you are correct, and I am not saying you aren't ...I feel embarrassed and tainted by the 'colonials' ...but I swear a BMW car is a Bimmer and a BMW bike is a Beemer, even in this country.

Well the deal has been done. He eventually went for an '06 Audi A8 sport V8 diesel. As far as I can tell it's got pretty much the entire options list ticked apart from 4 way climate control. £18k on the nose. It's only a few days in but he loves the thing to bits and it's going in tomorrow for a remap to something silly like 380/400bhp and an even dafter 750ish lbs of torque. The original owner paid just short of £70k for it, thankfully the depreciation has slowed down considerably by now, but you can see where the money went. Soft close doors, double glazing, Bose DAB sound system etc etc. It's not something I'd go for myself, but I couldn't fail to be impressed by it.

Either way, I'm sure he'll be changing it again in about 25 minutes.
/rollseyes in a friendly way. :D
