*** Heavy Rain - Story Thread *** SPOILERS ***

When Madison finds out Shelby is the killer is so stupid, it ruins the mood.

She seems so shocked like the other characters would be, but she has never met Shelby in her life.

Really enjoyed the game, thought I'd saved them all as they got to th end of the game, however only Madison survived. :(

Really didn't see that Scott would be the killer.

Going to enjoy playing through this again to get the different endings.

I started my 3rd playthrough last night, god the early bits are boring now :p

I think I'll just reload one of my previous chapter saves and go from there, I only need to get the Perfect Crime trophy and the Gold for seeing all the endings and I'm Platinum

Obviously to make you think it's Ethan, as then you have the poison scene right after to make you think he's the killer and if you don't do it, you won't save the kid.

I assume anyway.

You don't have to go that far back to play through different endings. I think "On the Loose" (where Ethan and Madison get cosy). Is as far back as I went to get the vast majority of the endings.

Off the top of my head (ignoring the final level), there is only 4 or 5 variables that effect the ending cut scenes.

If you took all 3 of them to the final scene and only Madison survived, reload the Final level and play it differently and you can make it end in at least 2-3 different permutations. (I am assuming Ethan got shot and Jayden got crushed, which can be both be avoided)

Nope Ethan didn't get shot, and Jayden didn't get crushed. :/

In the epilogues(;)) Ethan hung himself (I failed all his tasks) and Jayden died from a drug overdose, and Lauren shot Scott.

Oh I see, I thought you meant you took them all to the final level (i.e. had them travel to the Warehouse).

Did Madison make it alive to the Warehouse, or did she not go either?

p.s. you mean "epilogues" :)

None of them made it to the warehouse. The poor little boy drowned. :o

It would appear I made a total hash out of the whole experience. :p

I really do not mind having to play it through again though as it was one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played.

Hmmm, assuming you had Madison make it to the penultimate level, you can continue from that level and change the outcome, by playing differently. There are loads of ending scenes to collect, that will get you a couple new ones.

I've just read the below which looks like there's only 7 endings needed to get the trophy???

I need to do it from near the start though so that the shop keeper dies so I can get the Perfect Crime trophy ;)

Finished my first run through the other day and got everyone to the end. Would love to see all the different endings (22?) but I won't play it through that many times :p

Might do at least another 1 or 2 though, just to choose as many different options as possible.

Great game, probably surpasses Uncharted 2 as my fav PS3 title.

As the link I posted says you should only have to replay the last few chapters to see the majority of different endings

You might need a more or less whole play through to get the Perfect Crime trophy though ;)

Hmm, looking at that guide it seems they have figured out the quickest way to unlock all 17 end scenes (The endings mention which epilogues each variation unlocks). And also they have listed it in a way that requires minimum playback.

In practice there is more than 7 variations, but a lot of them lead to cut scenes that you have already seen.

I did the endings by trial and error, as I figured out which actions changed stuff. So I played the endings more than 7 times (sometimes I got scenes I had already collected!). If you just want the trophy then maybe it is the quickest, but I was more curious as to which decisions led to what.

I used a guide listing to get Perfect Crime, it can be done much quicker than listed on that page, but I already had all endings before playing Perfect Crime so I did not need to do it in the way listed there.

i.e. Lets say Jayden, Madison, Ethan all make it to the final scene. You can play that final scene in 4 different ways alone.

How did everyone manage to save Jayden? I got to the point where I identified the video and noticed a watch, and it gave me the option to confront Blake as the possible killer, but I didn't think it was him, so spent longer in ARI and Jayden didn't make it. I couldn't see anything else that I could use for clues

I don't know about anyone else but after the FBI guy got attacked in the nightclub it was pretty obvious who the killer was just by looking at his build and his eyes. Kind of spoilt it for me finding out so early.

When you see the Watch clue, a new clue appears in the rotating grid of clues, which is a list of Police Officer addressed. You analyse this and stick it on the map.

Then you cross reference that with the Gas Station Receipts you found at the Blue Lagoon and it narrows it down to one address on the map.
