Ubisoft's New DRM Cracked In Under 25-Hours

The only language companies like Ubisoft understand is money. I don't think Ubi care if it gets properly cracked or not. The only way they'll come to their senses is if nobody buys their products...

Unfortunately the "success" of the MW2 boycott shows that people are willing to give these companies money even when they know full well they're trying to screw you over.

Certernly brought a smile to my face when I saw that the DRM servers had keeled over and died :D
While I do feel sorry for anyone who happend to buy either SH3 or AC2 on the PC, I cant help but take pleasure in the fact that Ubisofts moronic DRM has exploded in there faces on day one no less.

Its rather sad but it just shows how DRM just DOES NOT WORK.
Anyone who purchased, erm, borrowed there copy from one of the many many torrent sites are now probbly laugthing there behinds off.

So again, the Pirates are happily playing while Ubisofts paying customers are totaly screwed

by the looks of it DRM = more piracy.. not only they dont offer anything better for the money... they mess it up so bad it doesn't even work.. epic failure.

from ubipoo twitter

We're happy to say ACII & SH5 are withstanding the efforts to crack them.We see the rumors but still confirm no valid cracked versions exist

haha xD how comes my mate is playing AC2 which he ~acquired on the release day??! XD

The 'crack' for AC2 just lets you access the game world you cant complete any missions so the game hasnt really been cracked.

well yes.. but you can still play it? wait for tuesday once skidrow, razor, reloaded etc.. release theirs... it will be "fully cracked" there's no uncrackable game.. not that i care really dont play this type of games anyway :)

You cant 'play' it in any meaningful way though so its not cracked.

The fact that this stopped 0 day piracy will prob be enough to keep it alive one way or another. There are people on a well known 'release' site debating buying keys which says a lot.

They just need to come up with some sort of disaster recovery solution IMO.

Ubisoft community manager 'Ubi Vigil' eventually posted a reply:

'I don't have any clear information on what the issue is since I'm not in the office, but clearly the extended downtime and lengthy login issues are unacceptable, particularly as I've been told these servers are constantly monitored.

'I'll do what I can to get more information on what the issue is here first thing tomorrow and push for a resolution and assurance this won't happen in the future.
I realise that's not ideal but there's only so much I can do on a weekend as I'm not directly involved with the server side of this system.'
