Can anyone help me with a couple of things?....

Firstly, in the whole of the two seasons, I have score only 1 goal from a corner! How on earth can I improve that?? I've set specific instructions on 8 players to go forward which include short option, pressure keeper, near post flick on (which worked great in FM09), go forward and attack from deep but nothing ever works. I'd also add that I don't ever recall scoring from a cross but perhaps that's because of the huge number of corners that occur due to failed crosses.

Thats strange, so far i palyed about 20 games in my 1st season with united. Rio has 3 goals, Vidic 2, Brown, O'shea and Berba 1 each from corners. Also hit the post 4 or 5 times. Not realy set any special instruction, got Rio on keeper, Vida on near post, berba on far and Brown/O'shea to attack from deep. Rest of the players are either forward or back with Rooney set to lurk outside area.

I can confirm this, he was transfer listed by Barcelona but they wouldn't budge on £21M. I loaned him for a season for £1.8M and then the next season they accepted my offer!

Scored in the first match of the season against Man City :D

I still have my original assistant from my first season as Bury. He's ****, but board only giving me £2,100 for the budget for an Asst. I normally go for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
 
Depends which team I am.

If I'm a lower league team, I'll look to get promoted and then bring someone in, putting up with whomever I have to start with. Solskjaer is a good assistant manager, used him lots in the game.

On my United game it's still Mike Phelan.

Get Mamadou Sakho from PSG! He's 21 and the best player at my newcastle team (cost me 12million over a year and a half to get him but he's brilliant)

Oh and for the corner thing, get someone with 19 as the corner stats and for some reason there's an in swinging corner to someone unmarked on the edge of the box that about 60% of the time creates a goal (usually to a center back running up for the corner). Im not 100% sure how it works but its the reason colochini has got MoM more than once despite being sent off too many times for me....

Harewood was fantastic.
Andranik was a brilliant signing along with De Laet, both played a lot and were very good all season.
Kakuta was good on the wing, scored and got assists when played, was rotated with my left midfielder though.

No idea whom I'll buy next season, had a mess about a few times to see what I can and can't afford.

I get about 20 million ish for a mid table finish with 160k per week on wages.

Darmian - A.C. Milan youngster is a free.
Hutchinson - 6-8 Million, good young English center back.
Cleverly - 2-3 Million, good attacking midfielder who can play across the midfield.
Kakuta - 7-9 Million, was fantastic last season and can get better.
Zalayeta - Free
Possebon - 1.5 Million, will improve but adds strength to a poor midfield.
Andranik - 3 Million, adds a bit of strength to a poor midfield.
Etuhu - 205'000, adds some more strength to a struggling midfield.

That normally is what I've being looking at buying. I can only really afford to sell one or two players from the team. After that I end up with a squad of 16/17 players.

I started again and have just played it simple with transfers (also as Man Utd), only signing Jovetic, Lukaku and Aréola.
 
Tummy, nice first season at Sheffield Wednesday but fancy trimming that table up a bit? :p

You could "chop" some of the table between the team names and the game stats. You've got tons of unused space. Just remove the middle blank bit of the table and bring the left and right pieces together to create a tidier table. :)
 
Thinking about starting a game with the new updates, will keep my Bury game though. Was going to start as Fulham (surprise), but might go for a Man Utd or Real game.

9? where did you get that from?

I've got a few that I got straight away, 2 at Christmas and some more next season :confused:

Most of the players I've got coming in are youngsters.

Into my third season with Arsenal. Won the treble last season (EPL, League Cup, FA Cup).

This season i won the Charity Shield, top of the league and in superb form! Played 12 games, Dzeko has 24 Goals! Pato has 9, Villa has 13, Ronney has 8.

My team at the moment, made some great signings in July.

Robben Fabregas Arshavin Messi

Subs - Almunia, Nasri, Vermaelen, Pato, Rooney, Milto, Eboue

If anyone is starting with Arsenal, Senderos is awesome, dont overlook him.

Sold Ribery for 60 million to Barca. Sold Chivu to Man City for 65 Million. I've had a 100 million bid for Rooney by Real Madrid. Tried to buy Ronaldo but they wanted 180 million.....no thanks!

Going to have a clear out now, get rid of not needed players, hope to rake in about 30 Mil and look for some future stars! After 1 season, Ramsey is fantastic.
 
Eventually going to give this game a good go, never really got into it first time round, so just want to check a few things.

Is there anywhere where I can download an update for the game for all the january transfers etc?

Is there any great training regime for players for they improve? On the old ones there was always a certain setup but obviously havent had the chance to check this game yet.

I've just discovered ProZone's FM10 Squad Analysis spreadsheet. It looks like it will be a valuable tool! Basically allows you to enter all your players stats and it will tell you the best position (and 2nd and 3rd best) for that player and also giving a % score. Yes you can do that within the game but being able to see all the players on one screen makes it a lot better.

You are in your third season and you have Pato, Rooney, Messi, Dzeko, Villa, Robben, Dani Alves and Akinfeev...

cheating then? No way Arsenal could afford that lot.
