The price and free delivery made me pull the trigger. Bit unnerving to hear that powercolor has a bit of a reputation though.

you can get a sapphire 5850 vapour-x for £218, over clock that and you have a 5870 vapour-x, why oh why would you pay the inflated prices here for a 5870 ?

Because overclocking them has no guarantees and you might shash it in the process? not everyone is comfortable with it

+1, get a 5850, overclock it past 5870 speeds, jobsagoodun, they are guaranteed to hit 900 on the core.

Raven i wish they were but im not having that luck with mine hitting 70c at 800 core and 1112 volts with auto fan, mem at 1150

70c is fine, whack the volts up some more, 99% of 5850's on the tube and here can do 900 easily, you may have a duffer.

Yeah core is sweet spot, your ram should be good at 1200 24/7.

MSI Overclock software is mad, you set it, apply it and save it and then close it and open it and it goes back to defaults!

Got it yesterday. DPD didn't bother ringing the doorbell and left it outside my house.

All seems to be working but it was very close on if it fitted in my Antec 300. GTA 4 still runs like a dog but I'm pretty sure thats GTA's fault not the card. Dirt 2 is supplied as a steam code if people are wondering. I'm downloading all 10 gig of it now.

I convinced myself I wasnt going to get a 5870 until they came below £300. Saw this yesterday and got really excited, but had left credit card at home so couldnt order, when i got home though was a nice car tax reminder sitting by the front door, wont be getting one now then

DPD can be a right pain, i paid for saturday once and they left a missed you card on the friday! luckily they did get it out to me on the saturday.

i'm very tempted to lob my 2 gtx 260 216 on ebay and get the single 5870, i know performance may drop slightly if anything but i have a few games that are dx11 capable and would like to be able to use the features, especially if it should only cost £100 or so to upgrade.
