Depends on the road.

How about driving between 2 cars on a roundabout where there is barely enough room for 2 cars side be side? Saw a biker do that last night on the way home and wondered why he didn't wait 10 seconds till he'd past the roundabout.

Its non of your business is it, if some moron wants to do 80 mph and kill himself why can't you just let him (as that moron may be someone like me in several instances and I am still here typing this!). The fact is that (it seems from your posts) that people like you seem to take it on yourself to protect humanity by preventing/impeding people from overtaking - involving yourself in business that does not concern you (from Beverly Hills Cop II!).
I do lots and lots of A-road and Motorway miles, far too much for what a doctor should. Sometimes it is after night shifts but usually in the day when I am fresh. After a night shift the drive usually is quite calm and relaxed and I stick to usually less than 70 mph (where appropriate) and let people fly by no problems.
However during the day in good weather conditions I do like to make speedy progress and this involves overtaking. The number of times I come up behind (and yes Clarkson is right) usually Audi drivers (in their 2.0 TDI A4 or similar) who either just don't look in their mirrors or choose to ignore you and sit at 'insert chosen speed' when there is room to move over in the left lane is huge. I got to say BMW drivers are a lot better now, not like 10 years ago! They just will not move, so then you have to flash them, then see them waving and gesturing +/- actually getting out of the way, then as your barge your way past, them trying to accelerate with their derv power to keep up, its so predictable! British behaviour at its best!
Obviously if someone wants to get past me regardless of what speed I am doing, I am more than happy to move over and let them take the high ground. Sometimes you meet them 2 miles up the road with a car with blue lights on the hard shoulder!!!
There are roads i go above the speed limit but if its high anyway why bother going over.
Frenzy said:Going back to the quote you made, the guy has just overtaken me. +1 for him, hes now driving infront of me doing roughly the same speed. What was the point?
So what you are saying is, its ok to break the lower speed limits, which generally are there for a reason, but not the NSL which is simply a blanket speed limit?
Overtaking is fun.
Where are you pulling these imaginary statements from?
It's the total opposite for me. I do 30 in 30's and 40 in 40's, but occasionally do 70-80 on 60 roads.
You said you do go over speed limits, but not when the speed limit is already high enough (i'm assuming 60's).
So are you saying that you'll speed in 30's and 40's (where the speed limit is normally low for a reason), but stick to the speed limit in 60's because it's high enough already?
That seem's awfully backwards. It's the total opposite for me. I do 30 in 30's and 40 in 40's, but occasionally do 70-80 on 60 roads.
