Perfect Dark XBL

just got the trial down....oh my! this does bring back memories

Aye, I remember thinking the lighting was over the top in the first large room you encounter and really regretting switching it off, moving and losing the switch (again) :o Now that's what I call Perfect Dark :D

Does this have online splitscreen?

I absolutely loved the original, one of my favourite games, and I'm seriously considering dusting off the 360 to play it, if it has online splitscreen ala Halo 3 / Resistance 2 / Warhawk then I'll definitely get it.

I have never before bought anything from Arcade. So forgive my noob-ness, but how do I add MS points?
You can buy them using a credit card via Xbox Live, you can go to a games shop and buy them or you can buy them online and get the code emailed to you.

The latter is most peoples choice.

Nostalgia bomb! Just waiting for a friend to dl this so we can coop the whole game together, it's going to be Glorious. Then i'll never touch it again.

Controls are a bit iffy but if you ignore manual aiming most of the time and leave auto aim on it's fine.

I think it's aged horrificly badly. I did the first level of the trial and then deleted it sharply. Chalking that one down to rose-tinted glasses.

Hmmm I'm enjoying it but I have to agree that it's aged poorly. Don't like the complete lack of help with the objectives, it's a confusing game.

That being said the multiplayer is still fun, glad they've included the bots. Can't wait to get some MeatSim action haha.

If you press 'back' on the controller then slide left or rihgt there's a nice long explanation of all things you need to do.

Yeah seen that thanks, just wish there was a map of some sort. Maybe I've been spoilt too much by newer FPS games.

i always wanted this game when it was first released, i remember being in EB when it was released but it cost like 70 quid with the exp memory, to this day i have never played this, 10 years on is it worth it?

for £7 ofcourse.

I think its aged fine to be honest, doesnt feel like a modern title at all but it can hold its own against the indie games that are of similar price, if not more expensive.
Iv only been playing single player but then theres all the combat sim stuff to do, multiplayer.. co-op.. its got a lot of playtime in it, something i completely forgot about.
Loving the single player still, its entertaining as ever.
Definately worth getting, even if you only ever touch it when you have your mates around.

It's horrid.
I tried a quick map against the bots and almost clawed my own eyes out.
A bargain it may be, but not for me :o

Could Perfect Dark be a tester platform to see how great the demand for this sequel is, then spring the original on us at a later date?

I don't think it's aged too badly. The reaction of the enemies when you shoot them is a lot better then even some fairly modern FPS games and it's refreshing to not be spoon fed everything.

That said, if you've never played Perfect Dark I doubt you'll like it. It's definitely one for nostalgia!
