Time off for the world cup

Couple of half days and 1 for the 12th July after we win it I will be hungover I am sure.

With V+, IPlayer etc I will watch most games in some shape or form and just worry about England live.

Plus I have used up most of my holiday already, well have plans to...

Booked 3 and a half weeks off: Fly out to South Africa on 18th June, fly back to England on 13th July. Doing a big trip, following England and taking in the sights and sounds of South Africa. Can't wait :)

wow I am so jealous
good luck mate
sounds so exciting!

I don't like football that much but I love the World Cup, I watch every match though I probably won't book time off work. I have Fridays off anyway so I can watch the opening ceremony.

I'm going to commandeer one of the conference rooms and designate it as a football room with the projector and probably a FilmOn subscription to get BBC or ITV (no idea what channel got the coverage) :)

so is anyone going to take time off work for the world cup?

if you are what weeks are you thinking of?

I want to see opening game and ceremony at the very least
Friday 11th June 2010

Still haven't decided which team i'm going to support yet.

USA Algeria or Slovenia.

Quite fancy Slovenia the underdogs....

if it wasnt so expensive to go over and watch the games id have given it a thought, but id rather save towards a property at the mo, in the future I will do a world cup though...
Its slightly more than a game of football, its lots of games of football, and the coming together of nationalitys with a shared passion, carnival atmosphere with much more than just the games happening.

Some responses here are amusing, I would imagine a few of the people here would take days off when a new game was released, or they were having new components delivered.

See, now going to watch it live is something totally different. Whilst I don't like football enough to do that, I could probably justify it to watch a rally or F1 event - I can totally understand the desire if you were watching live. Where's the "carnival atmosphere" on telly?

It's just taking time off work to watch it on telly I think is a bit of a waste... and no way in hell would I take time off for a game to be released either, I'd find that equally odd.

I make sure I will at least be able to watch all of the England games, If I need to book holiday to do that I will. Luckily this time round I work in an office brimmed with TV's and HD satellite receivers so I don't think I'll have a problem seeing the games :p.

If I was taking time off to watch it I would be in the pub with my mates :)
