LOAM have you actually tried that? i had a play with the mix last nite but couldn't really get it to work?

The map rotation thing you mean ?

if so yeah, it works ok, you have to set "que map on round change to on" then it makes a guess (there no change round event in the game so they have to make an assumption based on a mass side switch :S ). This allows you to play 2 rounds of each map. In addition the map list has to be listed out in the lovely names that Dice decided to give them, so for example the list for ours looks like this;

Yup looks good, was going to get this up and running, as i'm not the biggest fan of rush only.

Yeah should be mate, might not be till 8pm though, dinner and wife and cats and all that :P

I timed a rush round and found they were almost twice the length of a conq round (if teams are even that is) due to the 80 tics (ish) x 3 mcom stations x2 rounds as oppose to the 100 tic each for conq hence the 2 conqs to 1 rush. You should get the same amount of time on each mode that way.

* Mixed Rush/Conquest maplist updated.
* Autobalancer plugin updated. Should hopefully fix issues and allow more admin options.
* You can now switch teams as many times as you like.
* ....but admins can also track team switchers easier :p

You might have to take my name off the Friday thing. I might be able to make it but might not and wouldn't want to just not turn up :/

If you end up having room still and I'm about would love to play of course.

Do me a favour French let me know if your server crashes? i've heard that having a reserved slot stops it from crashing?

Will do. We had no crashes before (aside from EA going down about a million times of course). Will see how it goes tonight.

It should be ok, ive posted it up so I'm pretty sure 4 will be easy to sort out.

Ill let you know in good time though :) I "might" be able to do Sat depending on what time

Ah, no. It's the german standalone autobalancer. It also allows people to switch teams more than once. Will just update the notice actually...quite an important bit of info.

Think the reserved slot thing will have been fixed from the R8 servers:

Workaround for the “player manages to join server twice” crash. Now the server detects this and refuses the player entry. Client might hang but it will not take down the server as well.
Workaround for the “cannot join player to any team” crash. Teams might get uneven, most notably SQDM sessions with 5v3 players, but the server should no longer crash.
Game sends PB output to pbucon (so pb webtool can be used to run PB commands and see their results)

I guess it was when people were joining twice, if the server was 31/32 and someone joined twice I guess it would make it go down which was where the reserved slot stopped it happening because the last slot on the server wasn't allowed to be filled.

Oops. That's the old version. If you go to the end of the thread that the post I linked to is in you should see the latest version linked (0.6).

It seems to work reasonably well when it's running but the problems I had with 0.4 were:

1) Quite spammy with the warnings to everyone.
2) Default settings are a little slow to balance people.
3) After an hour or two it died. This is hopefully fixed in the newer versions.

Even with those problems it's still a *million* times less work than having to manually balance the teams yourself all the time though :)
 
Hi,

We have updated aswell, PB now re-enabled but we still show up in EA browser list,

Also tonight we will give the Autobalancer from BC2Gaurdian a go,

Would like to get the game type rotation in place to mix things up a bit, might get this going tomorrow then im off and see if its worth changing to ProCon.
