Games you can't seem to grasp and enjoy that other people make look amazing!

I have had the opposite.

WoW, hated the look of it, sounded really boring as all you did was level up. Mates get the game from OcUK, some more in real life grab it and I am hooked, can't play on my own as its one of the dullest games I have yet to play, but stick me in a group healing and I love it.

People make that game, get good people and its one of the best games I have played, just a laugh first and foremost attacking horde in underwear. :o

Have had a couple of games that I thought would be amazing, Cossacks II is the main one, someone raved about it, after playing Cossacks I for a year solid I bought the game, and it was a load of rubbish, completely changed and the only game I have ever played to max out 2GB ram with 2D graphics, that slowed on a 7800GT. Not picked it up since.

I was the same! Used to **** my mate for playing it as the graphics were crap and it generally looked crap.

Now I have 2 80s in respectable gear but I got a bit sick and don't play as much now.

The people do make the game. I have memories of playing halo online til 7am with mates, playing toca 3 racing clios at daft o' clock with mates online and many many hours playing CSS with a bunch of mates!

Fallout 3 - Post Apocolyptic landscape looks so much like Holyhead 2010..And the locals haven't changed much.
UT3 - What a pile of pretty looking poo!... And all the maps are same colour.
Il2 - 1946 - Inject what into what? How do I drop a bomb?
FSX - Ok, I've taken off..... now where is my recliner..ZZZzzzzzz
Crysis - WHY CANT I HAVE A KNIFE AND PLAY PREDATOR IN THE JUNGLE!!!!!

Not a Pc game, but Final Fantasy XII, I just get bored really, otherwise a good game. Same for most Final Fantasy's with me actually, but this was the one i got bored most easily.

Stalker series, just cant fathom it out lol
and Recently WoW, got to 80 and thought wtf am i doing, cant see the point now.
and all RTS games, the concept behind them intrigues me but i cant get my head into them.

- fallout 3 - depressing wasteland, stupid VATS, crappy story/characters
- oblivion - crappy interface, no real classes, boring guilds (except thief and assassin which were fun), seriously better rpg out there
- BF series - all rush for the heli and blast perched in the air zzzzzzzz
- assassin creed - didnt bother with second since first one looked good but had no depth past 30 min into the game
- far cry 2 (rinse and repeat outposts)
- prince of persia (zzzzzzzzz)
- rainbow six vegas and following sequels (loved it when it was redstorm who developped it)
- GTA series (aimed at a younger crowd i guess)
- COD multiplayer (rocket fest and perks etc...) loved the single player, i only ever like multi with a certain mod (I forget the name, but basically removes perks, heli strikes etc and makes it a regular shooter)
- ARMA and OFP - good idea but little too boring for a game - slow, cumbersome interface but i guess that is the nature of the beast - much prefered the original ghost recons, not the crappy later ones

At the moment, BF BC2 :(

Have you recently started? If so give it a chance, things will improve! I used to rage when I first started due to me not being able to get any kills but you get used to the maps and you get new/better unlocks to help you along.

For me it would have to be WoW. I have 3 characters (In the order I made them):
Rouge lvl 13
Ranger lvl 70
Deathknight lvl 80.

The problem for me was that even though a few real life friends play this game all they do is raid but I much prefer PVP so I end up getting bored.

ARMA II, i just can't stay interested in it.

Oblivion, another snores-ville of a game.

I can't get into AVP at the moment either, the only character vaguely interesting is the alien. Wish i never bought it, looks nice but very boring.

Company of Heroes, this should really be righ tup my street but i just can't get interested in it.

However i do like assasins creed, the stalker series, the total war series and many of the others you have labelled as boring. I'm a weird one i guess.

Yep, bought it a couple of days ago. Played through the SP campaign which was pretty decent, although very short and not quite as enjoyable as MW2 imo.

However, going online is just so confusing. How many game modes are there? With all the previous BF series, its just been capture the points and hold them to reduce the tickets of the other side. Plus, the maps are so small that there are just a million snipers with pin point accuracy camping around to up their scores, and as far as i am aware, there is no limit to snipers!

Dunno, just doesnt feel very user friendly to someone that is used to previous battlefield games.

There are 2 main game types; your traditional conquest mode and rush. On rush you are either on the attacking team or the team defending. If you are attacking you have to destroy the enemy’s com station. Once you have destroyed both of them the map "expands" and you now have to push forward to destroy 2 more. It ends when you have finally got to their last com stations.

Both game types have a normal mode and a hardcore mode. On hardcore your hud/UI is completely removed and you deal more damage.

And you are right, there are no limits to how many people can go a certain class. Snipers can be a pain but you just have to use the maps terian/cover to your advantage.

Nice topic would agree with a lot of above;

Mass Effect2; Boring/repetitive - ooh looks shiny though

Crysis; If i had just picked it up and installed and never seen the deluge of marketing videos/interviews & general hype
I probably would have enjoyed it, was almost sick of the game before it even hit the shelves

EDIT;; and i guess it really is a case of each to their own, for me 2142 is the best multiplayer game i've played (not played BC2). The statistics tracking was insane on that game.

How exactly? if that's an RPG then Half Life must be as well?

Half life has no ''rpg'' inventory, is linear, has no ''quests'', closed world, etc... Unlike Stalker... Why wouldn't you call it an RPG, because it has guns instead of magic, manna or other (imo) rubbish ?

It isn't an RPG although it does have RPG elements in it like item collection and side quests. Nothing in depth like an RPG though.

It is listed as an FPS/RPG on every site I've checked, go look around. iirc ( I'm not sure I've barely touched it) it has a leveling system and exp. too...

Because it has an open world, little guidance, inventory hassle, quests, it's an RPG.

Bioshock is what I'd call an FPS with RPG elements, Stalker is both an FPS and RPG in my eyes.

I get it a lot. Also got it with World of Warcraft, except the other way around. I thought the concept/graphics and everything sounded/looked poor once I played it I was hooked for several years... Ha!
