New Nissan Micra

How can the company know how to make good looking cars ala 350z and then pump out this crap.

Different design departments. The 350z was penned by that design graduate kid from Hatfield, whereas this has probably been done by a committee of boffins in Japan where theres more of an acceptance of weird looking small cars.

You guys do understand that the main market (and about 98% of sales of new ones) is people who know little about cars and car even less? It's bought be people who want a small reliable car and probably don't even notice what it looks like, never mind find it part of the buying decision. The new one is bland and that's exactly what I'd expect.

M

Doesn't this kind of person usually ONLY care about how it looks and how much it costs? As they don't care about engine, handling etc, they want it to look "nice" and care about it's appearance.

What a filthy looking motor. Expect these to be parked in the disabled bay at your local corner shop sometime soon!

No words can describe how shockingly over exaggerated this post is, i presume you drive a Zonda so it possibly is a little under specced/styled to what you are used to.

In the real world it looks fine, is likely to be cheap to insure/run/tax and be reliable motoring and one of the better cars in its class.

I sense you are the one who is over exaggerating. My car is actually a lot better looking and a hell of a lot better specced aswell, albeit, not a Zonda.

As you've seen from a number of posts in this thread, people agree with me.

You are wrong, this is a shockingly bad car :

Are you even aware of Nissan ?? They make solid cars that are totally inoffensive and are not renowned for their styling cues (of course they have a sporty division for the zeds and GTR)

Dont you drive a Mondeo ? I mean come on, they are about as bland as you can get and here you are knocking a car for being bland .....

I don't see any problem with it really, its a car that doesn't stand out, for people that don't want to stand out. Funky teens go for small Fords, Vauvhalls and VW's because its cool, Micra owners buy them for pretty much the complete opposite. They don't want a boy racer teen mobile.

I agree it does have that korean look, I think they should be trying to make a it a bit superior instead of directly competing.

Has anyone been in a 3 cylinder car?

Yeah, just an entry level Polo with 30 miles on it. Was actually quite nice at the time and I love the blue display on the VW cars.

It was slow as hell of course.

Yes, many years back my mum won a 3 cylinder Corsa in a competition.
She gave it to my stepdad who was forced to sell his Y-reg Porsche 924 as he couldn't be arsed to convert it to run on unleaded.

It was as awful as you'd expect, especially compared to the Porsche.
