Anyone with Quinn Direct?

Ok, just got off the pone to them, as far asthey are concerned its the same as always, still coverd and they even offerd me home insurance?

Quinn's Directors are going to get to see the inside of a prison cell if they ignore regulatory instructions any further.

I have never even found Quinn to be competitive for some reason, it has always been the Admiral group who have defied belief for years by offering myself and everybody i know rock bottom insurance quotes on all manner of fairly exotic and/or powerful metal.

Quite what Admiral are doing that Quinn are not i don't know..

Quinn were always very cheap (well, the cheapest) for me when i first started driving, but they are now rather average in terms of quotes for me so ive moved on. My sister is insured with them but luckily only until the 5th of April.

They were cheap when i started, for 2 years, but looking around now it is cheaper elsewhere so i would have been leaving even if they werent going under :p

ISTR countless 'Quinn are not worth going with' 'But I saved 20p!!' threads.
Actually, I saved £600 and only have a few months remaining - so little love lost!

"The appointment of joint provisional administrators will better protect policy-holders," the regulator said.

"It will allow the firm to remain open for business, to continue to be run as a going concern under different management and to put the business on a sound commercial and financial footing."

The company also operates Quinn Insurance UK and the regulator has ordered this wing of the insurance giant to stop writing new business in the UK.

"Existing UK policyholders will not be affected by this decision as existing policies will remain valid. Customers can make claims in the normal way," the regulator said.

Provided they stop trading this is great news, means the people who got cheap quotes to run around in cars they shouldn't be get taken off the road, should mean less crashes and in the longrun cheaper insurance for eveyone over 25.

WOOWW

was about to start a premium with them last week

was furious that id missed out but now im happy. whats the next best usually after quinn

all quotes seem to have jumped up

Yeah sure, there will just be an influx of uninsured people who can no longer afford insurance instead.

With less competition from a known cheap company, you may actually see insurance prices rise.

You mean policy, not premium.

There is no "next best" - insurance is very complicated so is almost completely individual, you're going to have to do your own leg work

What? 'Cars they shouldn't be in'
Who makes the decision of what cars people should be allowed to drive? You? That is the single most self righteous comment I've ever heard on here.

What are you talking about?

Young drivers (17 - 19 year olds) with no experience shouldn't be allowed to insure group 17 cars with 300bhp on the cheap.

I fail to see how that statement is self righteous, i haven't decided anything, but the rest of the insurance industy has, thats why they go to quinn, everyone else works by pricing them out of these cars, this is exactly why quinn are now in trouble because too many of these young drivers who shouldn't be in these cars are crashing them.

yeah

and how long do you think this price rise will last? quotes have definately risen since I did quotes around 10-14 days ago

been with quinn for 3 years now. never had any problems with them. i was actually going to bring my girlfriends policy over too when it ran out in april but i guess not now. lol

looks like all current holders will have their insurance valid till it runs out. guess i will just have to find a different company come november.

Wow, good job I did get insurance with these guys! Not surprised about this really, I was quoted about £700 with them whereas every other company was £2000 or thereabouts.
Edit: Just turned 17 btw and it was on a new shape 56 corsa.

Guy at work is with Quinn, only had his policy about 2 months. I take it he's still fully covered? Funnily enough, I feel as though he has been ripped off by Quinn, as his quote was by no means cheap..
