The official I kinda suck at BFBC2 but play for the lolz thread

The ranking system is a general addition in games to keep people playing it i think, to reduce the element of boredom, and for some people it works, but for other people it doesn't.

It's a hit and miss.

Q
Drop Med kits
Drop Ammo Packs

nothing more annoying than when ya out of ammo or badly hurt, the corresponding soldier with the kit is just there.... you look at them spamming Q to get the drop you need but they just stare at you then run away :p

I share in your shock, I could see lots of players looking at me in the "give me a med pack you idiot" way when I played medic the first few times, I just get remarks about me not reviving now - I don't have defib yet.

hehe thought that was a bit odd not even having the basic things for the kits when ya start... could atleast have one that you can;t throw down or something? :p

Unless they don't have them yet. I was a bit shocked starting a medic to find I don't have a bloody med kit!

Was puzzled by the logic of this (and the defrib) - same with the engineer having to unlock the repair tool. Probably accounts the the medicpackless medics!

It takes surprisingly long to unlock them too. I mean, when you're new, you've got the crappy guns, no upgrade slots it's tough to get points, as kills are hard to come by and are you're main source of points if you have no kits or defib or anything.. Takes a while to get those first few points for the kit unlocks.

Doubley long now that everyone is running around with CGs and M60s!

That is strange a medic with no medipak !!? most of the BF series you start off with the medipak and put! put! gun. so when you throw down medicpaks or revive someone. you get either healing or revive points so you get higher rank/points for better unlocks. i can see that being frustrating when your team members are shouting for a medic but you can't do a#se all about it, i dont know the logic behind that. So how many points do you need to unlock medipak and revive kit.

I thought I was going mad when I couldn't find the medpak and love paddles!

On another note, I've found that after 10-20 minutes playing my FPS suddenly drops to 4-5 and I have to completely quit the game and restart to fix it :(

It's your first unlock [i think].

The 1st unlock is the med pack, 2nd is a gun (M249) and finally the paddles unlock.

However, I have found myself playing on servers recently with the ammo, medpack, paddles and repair gun already available.

well had my first play last nite, it was pretty good, im used to 64 player servers so it does take 30 mins to get used to. i eventually got the medipak so i have yet to see in play and how many points you get, i think i agree with everyone here maps are pretty small compared to BF2 or BF2142. my first play i had like 1 kill and 9 deaths lol. only cause the first gun is pray and spray.

The first medic lmg actually has fantastic accuracy over range, although I only realised it on my second night's play. First time around I'd pick up any other kit to get rid of it, but I'm getting kind of fond of it now :)

Having only spent about 2 hours online on the game, i agree all the start up gear is rubbish, the first few games put me off as my K/D ratio was rubbish (and still is!) but im gonna stick with it. Can see a lot of players not bearing with it though.

I've managed to unlock loads last night and want to urge everyone to stick with it. Although the starter kit is total tosh, once you get the unlocks the game begins to come to life.

It's a shame for noobs though.

It doesn't last that long though to be honest. Halfway through my second night of gaming I'd unlocked the medkit, and started to get the hang of not dying within 5 seconds of spawning.

Everything worthwhile takes a bit of effort :)

Just because it's higher up the unlock ladder doesnt mean its always a better gun for you though.

I realise that, but having better accuracy and bullets that do more damage is an advantage no mater what gun you're using. As people above me have said, it makes the game rather unfriendly for newbies. I know that the only two other people in my office with this game where both really put off with how hard it is and never really got into it because of that.

I've started to get some better kit now and providing I don't make a complete hash of it like I sometimes do I can do quite well and as such I'm not so bothered about people having slightly better unlocks now, but it was really frustrating for the first few levels. I found it especially annoying that I couldn't do much to help my team because you have to unlock the basic equipment for each class.
