They should have had a public vote on having the 2012 Olympics in the UK/London. Nice way to waste even more of our money on a waste of time.

The Olympics will generate considerably more money that it ends up costing.

I'm sure it will be a tremendous feat of engineering but I can't view it as beautiful and that's where it falls down for me as a piece of art. I seem to remember hearing similar grandiose claims about the Millenium Dome and that was hardly a resounding success but may this will transcend it's limitations to be something worthwhile.

That would have been interesting. This just looks like a small version of the Eiffel Tower that is on acid. Pity they just couldn’t dump Kapoor’s Marsyas in the Olympic Park.
