i have about £170 to spend on a case and i would like a sleek, black, aluminium case with no door unless there is space underneath the door to fit a fan controller. preferably no windows either. i quite like the minimalistic look :) also needs to fit a Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler. im also going to be cooling on air so no watercooling requirements.

thank you if you can help me with choosing a case.

Jake

Fair 2cm of space behind door of Lian Li A71FB so unless controller uses door knobs they'll fit.

Stulid, i have been looking at the atcs and it looks like the most likely option. are there any others i should consider? maybe not on OcUK? the A71 looks nice but incredibly tall. i kinda want a little bit of ability to move it. i know the ATCS will be heavy but i can still put it in the boot of the car. the A71 looks a bit big to do that.

BTW £170 is just my max price not what i absolutely have to spend. so if there is a case that is better than the higher priced ones then please tell me about it and ill look for some reviews.

The ATCS is only heavy when its got stuff in it.

I transported mine to my friends house a few weeks ago, put it back into the box and just about got it onto the back seats.

Had a bit of heavy breathing after!LOL.

Lian li do some beautiful cases.

cool thanks ill do that i reckon if i get the ATCS. can you suggest a different Lian Li case that is the A71B? its just insanely tall. what about the smaller PC-B10?

thanks

Silverstone and Lian li are the best around this price get one of the lian li above as suggested but also worth looking at is the silverstone fortress ft02.
Silverstone cases exude style and quality and yes i own the silverstone fortress ft01.

about the FT02. it looks like i would have to plug all peripherals into the top? strange orientation.

edit:sorry meant FT02. now changed

That FT-01 isn't as good as claimed, its cooling idea is clever, but fails in practice.

Read some proper reviews, rather than some yank shouting WooHoo.

It's ft02 and why isn't it any good then ? source ? btw that video I posted was not meant as a review was just to show the case.

It's like saying the fortress ft01 isn't any good because of the top fan filter being hard to get at, well it's no issue at all if you run with the top fan as exhaust.

Just suggested the silverstone because of the style, my ft01 has it's issues but I forgive it because of many + points.
Like great cooling solid build quality quietness and sheer good looks.

Warmer components recorded than a conventional air flow/ATX case.

And Vanger said in his opening post, no doors/windows/minimalist looks.

How does that case suit his requirements?

You can order one without a window + i don't think you can get more minimal than that it's very sleek, still waiting for you're source of bad performance though.

www.bit-tech.net reviewed the RV02 on the 17th of november, don't know if its the same as that rubbish posted above.

didn't do well by all accounts, better to have no case at all.

Vanger wants a M3, you post a G-wizz.
