Crusial Real SSD and 6gb/s cable

Is there a different sata cable for the new 6gb/s because they all look exaclty the same without any obvious writing on the cable itself?

There are 6Gbps sata(3) cables available...

Are they needed ??

I don't use one..

Though am thinking of getting one

You are likely to get SSD performance degradation if you are not using SATA-3 cables. I wouldn't connect a SATA-3 SSD to a SATA-3 controller without using a 6GB/s cable.

How can u tell which cable is which? i have a UD7 mobo that supports the new 6gb/s but all the cables are the same..

Well got my Sata3 cable today...

Made no difference ...

Doesn't seem like the newer cables are needed.

Hmm, i wonder if its the connectors not the cable because i thought the limit was only around 300mbs with Sata 2? yet the cable i am using (which i dunno if its Sata3 or 2) testing my hdd i am getting a read speed of 340 mb/s (i have the crucial RealSSD)

I get around 358mb/s with my 6gb realssd. 340 sounds about right

ye re did the test today actually and i am getting about 355 (340 was just from memory of my last test a couple of weeks ago)
