Manual treadmills are utterly crap, I'm sure some store will have one on display, jump on it and regret even trying one.
Because they are powered by your movement they basically constantly speed up and slow down, its jerky, uncomftable, un-natural and they slip a lot. They'll also be made of pee poor metal that if you try anything as insane as, jogging, or something, will fall apart in no time.
Some things you really do have to spend some money on to be worth it, a decent treadmill, (decent versions seem to start around £500 + new), will last a heck of a lot longer, give you a decent motor so you don't get better at running then get stuck at 8kph or something daft, won't slip and slide and be generally unsafe to use and will have a far better sprung deck to give a little cushioning, but not to much. A couple cheaper ones I tried in a showroom were all about the "cushioning" and it was like trying to run on a trapoline, very jarring and uncomftable.
Yeah I thought as much about manual ones.
I dont want to get a cheap new one. I am just looking for a cheap older one

Something reliable I can look out for that is hard wearing but not super expensive.
Im not in a hurry I just want to keep my eye open for any bargains on the bay or freeads.
