Bluray discs unneccessarily splitting content 'because people like it' :(

Yes quality of life goes up.

However they also tend to have bigger wars with bigger weapons as they can support a larger army.

You have more free tiem for politics?

Right so what happens when group A who believes all black/white/dutch people are the scum of the earth or that their god hates them and decides that they should wipe them out to save their eternal souls?

You've now got a big war.

Who controls the abundance? they're going to be pretty powerful.

What about the people who believe abundance should be earnt no given?

What happens when they take other peoples abundance away?

What happens to all the dictators in the world?

You think they will just gladly give up their domains?

If you want to bring abundance to their people you're going to have to remove them and their armies and every one else who wants a shot at thier position once you do remove them.

America and the soviet union, they did not need each others land for resources but they built the most destructive pair of arsenals in the history of the human race in preparation to fight to their mutual deaths over political theory.

If I could have it all on one disc (films, special features, commentaries etc.) then I absolutely would.

Anything to make it easier to enjoy the product I paid for would be nice. It would also be nice if they made things cheaper as a result of having to manufacture less things.

I suspect it's partly a case of "we can charge a lot extra per disc we include, so lets spread it out even more". Since they have a certain cost per disc they produce and make a huge profit on them it would make sense for them to do this.

Either way, the closer DVD/Bluray ownership gets to DivX/XviD levels of 'easy' and 'convenient' (and 'freedom') the better. Which is something that these entertainment industry folk really don't seem to get at all.

I would buy a multidisk for equal price.

If 1 disk gets broken then just buy a replacement film for that disc.

Can lend family and friends 1 disc at a time knowing I have the others.

Can watch a trilogy in parallel....

ANd sometimes its just nicer having multiple things. I like the 1 movie 1 disc simplicity. I prefer 5x £20 than a 1x100. etc,.

5 Disks no doubt about it.

Special editions for me the bigger the better, i want it to sit on the shelf and when i look at it i know its the special edition, not just another regular Dvd box in with the others.

OK let me rephrase. Would you rather buy 5 * 10gb content on bluray, or 1*50gb content on bluray? If the 5*10gb content had a big old box with a nazgul on the front but all the grief of switching disks etc??

Well I'd buy the 1 disk version if it were like that, but the fact is, it's not. The whole POINT of blu-ray is that the films are HD, and too large to fit on a DVD. In the case of TV series', maybe you do get more content on the disc, but with films, you can only really fit one film on a disc.

Who controls the abundance? they're going to be pretty powerful.

I can't answer all questions as this is a bit off topic but ill say that alongside such abundance there would need to be other changes on a personal level.

If you gave everyone a nuclear bomb of course some of them will be detonated but if given enough time and advancement change would happen, people would become more intelligent, especially if the right technologies were available in the right order, although you could give everyone a nano fabricator an AI and the designs for everything then see what happens, it's probably not going to end well but then that wasn't what i had in mind, at least not in the short term.
