Hi,

Please could you guys spec me an MMO besides WoW, DAoC, EVE and hopefully one that's not a grind-fest. I mainly want one with a good community feeling. :)

Thanks. :)

Good Luck

Every MMO is a grindfest, I've been playing Darkfall Online for a year now and you dont have to grind in that unless you want to be competetive in PvP (serious grind if you start now).

but for PvE with guilds or just having fun you can take it casually.

I'd be surprised if you found an MMO without a grind.

actually, WAR was pretty good because I did PvP to level up so it took my mind of it.

edit - you're also playing it wrong if you think you need to get the the highest level (if their are levels) fast, find a good solid gaming community, have a laugh and take your time (force yourself if you have to).

MMOs have to be a grind, because professional developers & content creators are a finite resource.

The only way MMOs will stop being a grind, is if one comes along which allows the players themselves to expand the world, creating their own content. And that is a path fraught with its own problems.

Could you explain the differences between LOTRO and WAR please?

One is heavily PvP orientated and has little real lore or community. Fairly run of the mill graphics and little in the way of PvE.

The other is heavily PvE orientated, with oodles of lore (as you would expect given the theme), strong mature-minded community (both RP and non-RP). Graphics which at times can be stunning and little in the way of PvP.

I personally have had it with MMOs now i play wow atm i totally quit the PVE side just doing arena but in 3 Weeks i have full Gear inc shoulders tier 2 weapon so i'll just idle till title n mounts thru n sell up.

I'd rather play FPS n single players thease days i hate relying on others in games.

2 words *SOUL SUCKING*

Hehe, depends who the "others" are that you have to rely on I suppose.

Online gaming with the wrong people = yuck
Online gaming with the right people = yum

:D

Sounds like LOTRO is perfect then. :)

What are the various Asian MMOs like?

Suggest trying a trial of LotRO before parting with money.

I can't remember which server I was on, but it was devoid of players during my leveling up. And the content was the same old tired chores as every other MMO, but less rewarding going through it solo compared the other franchises.

Wait, which one's which? I've avoidied MMOs like herpes for a long time, but heavy PvE focus with oodles of lore sounds right up my back alley which, incidentally, is how herpes finally got me, too

Not sure on Lotro monthly cost, but you can get a lifetime account for between £90 - £150 depending on where you look. Got mine for £75 off the back of a codmasters email suggesting I reopen a closed account :D
