New Grand Turismo Trailer

on the whole forza3 vs gt5 debate. having got both consoles and owning forza 3 , gt5p and the demo i have to say i prefer forza, it just feels more real. ie in forza i pretty much drive how i do in real life and experience the same roll, grip etc.
i dont know its hard to explain but from what iv played of gt5 so far its just not quite there - maybe the full game will be , i dont know we will have to wait and see.

what i cant stand tho is the gt is better then everything blah blah , its like a bunch of 5 year olds still in denial where the fact is gt used to be a great franchise but it has got seriously stuck in the early 2000;s whereas pretty much everything out there has surpassed or bettered it in every way.... its up to sony and co to make sure gt5 isnt another stuck in the rut game but based on everything iv seen so far it will be exactly that.

Id clearly say I am the most excited on these forums about GT5 yes....
Although I dont think its ever been the case with myself in acting like that way or being blinded in that everything about GT is just better fullstop. Its not and the Forza franchise has done a lot of good things and certainly in many ways done things better than previous GT games. Audio, paint, online, new analogue clutch support and to an extent its tunning are well appreciated. Handling preference seems to be down to different people preferring one or the other it will never be a clean cut decision.

Turn 10 as a developer however are very prone to bigging up themselves and seem to have a way of believing how great they are as a developer. I dislike that kind of in your face marketing about them to a point its annoying. It was also very low of "Che" to run a Poll offering people that voted their game over GT as the better franchise with the promise of a "free car". Like really are they that desperate but it shows their eagerness to rival the GT series.

A similar discussion is on GTP at the moment and covers some the the below points.
Aparently every single Forza game released has had bugs, bugs that did not get fixed. Whats worse is that FM3 carried over many of the body panel bugs that FM2 had which drove many painters crazy. So no lessons were made their. Online is actually worse on FM3 than it was on FM2 so it didnt improve that aspect neither and many other bugs aparently in photosharing are in the game. Multiscreen options has bugs and unfinished cockpits are aplenty. Not only that but the 400+ cars the game has is ruined by the fact that in each catagory only a few cars will allow the user to top the time sheets. This is limiting the competition between different cars so the PI scoring needed more refinement. Again this was a lesson not learned from their previous games.
Hold on yes T10 have and will no doubt release updates to help improve some things but many things could be better delt with or should have been noticed. Turn 10 dont seem to have the same level of commitment in delivering a product to the finished quality thats been as well tested as it could have. We could ask was FM3 rushed with Microsoft believing GT5 was due like everyone expected for last Christmas?

Its fair in my mind to see the faults the game has, to acknowledge them but to look accordingly at it as a complete product even compared to its predecessor. Basing it on its own merits and not what it may be up against in GT. Scoring it a 9 as some places scored it is being rather generous taking on board all its issues.

The previous linked article wasnt me bashing the franchise like a numpty but highlighting what others have noticed and the fact that reviews contained it seems no acknowledgement of these whatsoever or even minor flaws. We dont have to agree with everything he says of course but its obvious issues are their. Proof of the pudding is in the eating and as was noted FM3 hasnt maintained a high level of online play or certainly not one it should have. Could T10 of done a better job and is this title worthy to the hype it promised? How much of a true upgrade is it over FM2 in a racing simulation or as a racing game?

GT5 could be a massive dissapointment and if it has so many bugs or issues then P Digital deserve a right bashing considering the time involved in development. They do however set themselves apart as a developer. Just as an example look at the depth in detail to the cars, they produce much more accuracy of the fully modelled cockpits. So with upto 1000 cars clearly are prepared to go to lengths other companys will not. Some love that dedication others wont give it a second thought. Yet at the same time Forza fans will bash the trees or no skidmarks for fun.
Id rather have the aniamations of the gears, hands, drivers and the brillant usage of the aero wings which not a single other developer have implemented. Looking at the dedication involved we dont know what else the game will offer but its truely without being biased appearing as one of the most ambitious racing games ever. How the game is associated in the real wold auto industry, including various forms of racing and even striking exclusive content for media such as Top Gear is just examples of how GT as a franchise sets itself so easily above any other racing game franchise. This may not make it a truly better game but its easy to see why it gets adored by so many.

For me I dont recall waiting almost 6 years for any other game, ever...

Lets see what E3 brings.

Bigging up themselves= PROMOTING A PRODUCT

It's quite an effective way of selling your product to the people.

Please tell me of another game on the market that is such a complete package.

And the game is a 9 for the average gamer. Sim geeks like yourself and others are bound to find faults. You say its a 7, yet you say GT5p is a 7-8......really?

I can't wait until GT5 comes out. I'm very excited about it and you won't find me putting the game down at every opportunity.

You really do talk some crap Mr Latte. They may be long posts but they're still just talking crap.

Do me a favour and STOP with your attitude before replying to my comments.
Why also regulary do you have to be so nasty and call people names? Didnt your parents raise you like a good little boy?

If you dont agree fine express your own opinion. You dont have to read mine or indeed insult people. You could at least explain why you dont agree with what is said but you constantly seem to act in denial of issue with Forza.

Your point about scores, trying to prove something their are we?

The review score I gave for GT5p was when it released. Before FM3 arrived. I dont by any means rate GT5P better than FM3 particulary as a full game as your trying to assume, you foolish man.
I rated GT5p as a demo at the time. If I replayed GT5P now and scored it to a Full game it wouldnt score as well. Aditionally games in general improve so any old score I would have made isnt relevant to new games. Lastly and for your information when I scored GT5P on AVF many other guys were giving even higher scores than me. Also many times I have stood up for FM3 in other forums so maybe get your facts straight before trying to paint a picture of me.

Oh and when talking about painting. Admittedly your really good at that but shame you have to be such an ass at times.

You fail once again to acknowledge my own views are that FM3 is a good game, it has issues in my view. Is it the complete package, no as it still dissapoints in certain areas and isnt maybe the true sequel it could have been. Is it a fun and exciting racing game yeah and definately on my own system!

Continue to name call and bash me without cival discussion or expressing your views sensibly and I will put you on ignore.
Likewise if you want do the same as you seem to have personal issues with me and its probably best for the forums.

There is basically no point in entering any thread on this forum to do with racing games any more thanks to these utterly pitiful forza vs gt5 slap-fights.

Cheers guys.

Yes I know. Sorry.

It was going fine until Mr Latte, for whatever reason, posted the link slamming FM3 in here.

Just to get this on thread on Track (pun intended) found a new GT5 Trailer doing the rounds,

The most interesting part for me is at the 2min 20 part when he drives towards the AI car and it actually dodges it rather than just follow its own line, hopefully this is the shape of things to come AI wise.

The car does not seem to be getting damaged although parts of the tracks are getting damaged. How come?

rp2000

I noticed that too about the AI which might be encouraging.
However GT AI has been pretty weak in every incarnation so far.

Regards damage its obvious this demo doesnt have the full damage enabled on that car yet .
Well I dont think so compared to the Subaru WRC past videos showing its damage.
This should be one of the "premium damage" modelled cars being a race and not production model.

As for you ibert maybe just learn to ignore me.
For the record I wasnt the first in this thread to make comparisons to FM3 and I havnt slammed anything, once again you make stuff up to suit yourself.

Just went and found the damage on the subaru video, and i must say, although its alright i dont see it as ground breaking enough to delay a game this long

Or is the damage not the delay anymore?

I was disapointed you could hammer a wall and the car would still go with just a loose bumper and no door :(

I really am hyped for this game just looks better every time i see it.

I'm not hyped for it due to the forever endless videos and release dates.

Don't get me wrong I'm always for it being completed properly and not rushed but the flip side is that I am no longer thinking about it, hell I won't even check this video out.

Realtime weather would be really cool but I'm sure they could just make it up anyway ;)

Heres more of my crap talk...

Its never been confirmed like many things if it is or isnt in the game.
Kaz I think enjoys taking the media for a ride tbh.

The same weather icon and weather report service they use is from a real weather company (forget which one it is but is in credits of GT5P)
GT5P had countries listed and wet/dry with temprature etc. Many of those named cities or track locations have mostly been confirmed as tracks or cities in the game.
The latest screenshots we seen from "GT Academy TT Competition Finalists" again showed this icon was still their with track temps. Why is the question unless of course weather will play a part in the game?

Please pay no attention to all the race options and nice features like seperate lap sector times being displayed here. This interface of course shows very little promise for what the game will offer and anyone making such assumptions is likely to be classed as a fanboy. It is an offence to certain other members if you get excited about this game and compare it to others. It is best to assume this game will suck online as P Digital have never released online in GT before, that way no-one can be disappointed.

Notice the weather and temp icon is still visible.

Regards the release of the game whos to say anything about the game is the delay and not Sonys intent to market this title with the upcoming PS3 3DTV features and their overdue 3DTVs which are now scheduled for June/July release in UK/USA/Japan.
June - Sept is when I think personally the game will see its release...

Stop being so childish.

The thread is about GT5 and I all I tried to do was keep the thread clean of your Forza bashing antics.

You should have posted the link in the Forza thread where it belongs.
