G3: Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani et al?

I'm gonna have to +1 Alex Hutchings. He's amazing.

Guthrie and Alex are two of my most favourite players. Others include Paul Gilbert (introduced me to awesome guitar), Greg Howe and I guess Yngwie Malmsteen for his sheer neoclassical ferocity. :P

Aye players like Guthrie, Alex Hutchings and Tom Quayle seem to causing a massive stir within the 'shredding' communities, the jazz influence is a (much needed imo) injection of inspiration.

Oh come on, it'd be a crime to not have Eddie Van Halen in a thread about amazing guitar playing.

Also, thread requires (even) more Paul Gilbert:

I don't know if you're into your jazz, but if so check these out:
I'm only quoting a part, but yes... definitely into jazz. That whole post took me and my wife back to when we first met 15 years ago... a little pub across the street from the Hard Rock Cafe in Washington DC. A band called the Jazz Barristers played there every Sunday, and we would meet after she got off work and listen and drink and got to know eachother.

Ahh, memories. :)

some pretty amazing guitar players in here and a joy to listen to.

I had (past tense) an album by Steve Vai on tape, the one where he made a conversation out playing a guitar, can't remember the name of it tho.

Shazam tags your track as King Arthur's Dream by The Hellecastersl by the limited amount of it I can find online it appears to be correct.

Shazam is a clever little peice of kit!
