Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

I guess, the damage changes don't bother me so his zoning will still be the same which is nice, I'll shed a tear for that standing light kick nerf though. :(

Can't argue that he's not overpowered, I don't think I did one combo in them games unless you count the f+roundhouse juggles and standing light kick cancels. Just zoning and poking.

His zoning is a lot weaker. Safe jumpins and option selects will work a lot better luckily. He desperately needed all of those nerfs. No character should have near enough 100% of their mathups being in their favour, and only 1 even match up.

Which console has the best online play for sf4? I've been playing on the pc which can be a pretty horrendous experience with not only lag but also others only scraping 20fps :o I'm using a sega virtua stick high grade which can plug in to the ps3 but wouldn't mind modding it to 360 if the games better on it.

The PS3 version was never as good for online play as the 360 but when championship mode came out it got worse and hasn't been fixed at all.

I would wait until Super now though. I'm gonna guess 360 will still be the one to go for because the PS3 had issues with a slow server browser and very slow at joining games, this was before championship mode made it worse too.

find a old crappy logic3 acrade stick at home. i realise its not actually as hard as i initially thought to do moves on it (i can put off most basic cancels and combos on it, but for some reason it wont let me change the button config, so anything beyond hp > dp and fireball is impossible), although i am not as fluid with it as i am with a pad yet but i could be if i practice on it for a few weeks/months.

i can see why people spend so much money on sticks...i might try and get a good one myself if it dont cost too much.

Been trying to get back into this as practice for SSF4 and having a terrible time especially with trying to get consistant results. Sometimes i can barely beat the simplest of people. Especially on matchups where i don't really have any kind of gameplan vs their character.
Looking foward to trying out Juri in SSF4 but unsure what character i should really be practicing with in SF4 to get the best kind of headstart so i'm just getting used to the TE stick with Ryu, is there anybody else i would be better using that is more comparable to Juri?

I'm ok when it comes to firing off hadokens and the like now but i feel like theres something missing, most of the time i just hand away victories to almost anyone. Guess i just need a lot more practice.
If anyone is still around on PS3 and wants to beat me until they get bored or help in anyway, i'd certainly appreciate it. :)

good game today Artheas. you are probably a bit better than me, but i feel i didnt played to my best today...although i would probably still lose around 18-12 even if i was at my best.

i feel my form is so bad now i even fail to punish a missed heavy dp or ultra...like the game when i played as barlog, i had at least 4 chances in the same game to link headbutt to ultra and i fail to do so or the time when i played as chum li, i had a few chances to land the ultra after ex slk and i failed again...it seems i could only use my skills in training mode...where i can do this with ease

in fact admittedly i even struggled against noobs today who didnt know what he is doing apart from jumping kick and crouching kick...

That's not bad against Artheas, I think we should have some games! He mostly beats me too, although when I do 'click' and have a really good session, we have some awesome close games.

Whats your ID? :)

About failing to do certain things during a fight, i was like that with FADC into Ultra. Could nail it most of the time during training, but struggled to do it during a match. Its because you know exactly what will happen during training mode, whereas in a real fight, you need to see if your headbutt connects first before you do Ultra (although that does give you a huge window to check). I actually have your problem now with just multiple crouching jabs into dragon punch. I can do it almost all the time in training, but not so much in an actual fight.

blah blah blah
Got time for a session 2day/nite? Might as well play some before you all leave me for SSF4. Unless i get a 360, in which case i still wouldn't be able to play you any more :p

I should have time yeah, I will try and catch you on.

If you do get a 360 for super, let me know as I am seriously contemplating it aswel... even though I already have a PS3.

I'm trying to get decent at sf4 in preparation for ssf4 atm I'm only playing randoms online and getting my ass handed to me most of the time.

I just bought a fight stick and am going through the arcade mode atm to see who I like the feel of, I find fights easiest with akuma atm but I am guessing he is considered an overpowered and unfair character, I handle ryu ok and honda isn't terrible, I can't play guile or vega to save my life though.

If anyone wants to humiliate me online add prankster182 on live

What console are you playing on Substance?

BTW if you feel most comfortable with Akuma he is well worth sticking too. Relatively strong but definately not overpowered in SF4, like in some previous SFs. :)

Oh and ggs hyv! You were definately stronger in the second half of our games, as you learnt how I play. ;)

haha i usually take rounds off at the start to learn how my opponent play, but admittedly i was a bit shell shocked when i saw the massive damage i was taking from your combos.

i have been practising the basic cancel of chun li's standing mp > overhead and crouching mk > overhead again recently after noticing how well standing mp works against hadokens as well as messing up your rhythm, and i must say it paid off in the latter half of our match!
