Stolen mtb agian...ways to stop it

All you need really. Though if storing overnight its pointless to use any locks as unless the bikes crap it will be gone by morning weeks after the local ***** notices where you live. Indoors for overnight if you bikes worth something and at £300 it is just about worth stealing. the lock mentioned above for leaving it in town centres for a couple of hours, note that kryptonite offer a free £2500 insurance policy with that lock if its broken into.

The two most expensive bikes live indoors in the Utility Room (one was in the Study but the wife had a strop!) and that's upstairs. I'd rather have the effort of taking them downstairs in the morning that risk them getting stolen.

The other two are in the locked outhouse building.

If you don't have the option (for whatever reason) of storing it indoors get a small metal shed and a decent padlock. Then lock the bike inside the locked shed with a decent lock)

Better lock?

Also put a chain through both tyres so they can't ride off with it or even pick one side and wheel it. It would probably deter theives. A friend use to do that back in the day when he would leave his bike outside shops etc to go inside and there was nothing to lock it against.

Would add a bit of weight to my pack then (I ride into work with a change of clothes and 1 or 2 meals for the aftertoon/evening)

might be expensive, but is it possible to close off the back part of the house where you keep your bikes with a gate? might deter theives or at least slow them down. and buy a couple of motorcycle locks to lock up the wheels and frame.

the "chains" might have been good but i bed the locks were poundland !

btw if you realy do use a proper chain get a long one and dont wrap it around so much that theres no flex, its harder for the chavs to break the lock/chain if they have a problem keeping it still

If you can cut whatever you secure it with with hand tools then its not enough. Make it hard enough so they'd need an angle grinder and you'll stop it being nicked.

Only problem is, if they cant steal it they might saw it in half out of spite. I keep mine in my bedroom, which really is a hassle but at least its safe and at £600 its worth the extra hassle.

Almax chains are not something you can carry with you every time you go somewhere but it's perfect if you want to lock your bike securely where you live etc.

Simpler to just keep it in the house (which I do) Thinking about investeing in a full size folding bike next tbh to save a little bit of space, any reccomendations?

Normally keep mine in the house out of sight, but if it is outside or rather in the garage, theres 2 ground anchors, 2 massive chains, and a flimsy looking thing around the front wheel and downtube of the bike, but its very rarely in there.
