Phenom II X6

also will it support ddr2 memory? does it have both memory controlers ddr2 and 3?

Also will my motherboard need to be updated or if it supports a phenom allready should it support this?

The Phenom II X6 will work with AM2+ motherboards with a BIOS update IIRC. The Phenom II X6 1055T should be around the same price as the Core i5 750 and the Phenom II X6 1090T should be around the same price as the Core i7 860 and Core i7 930 AFAIK.

There's like 2 huge threads on this already why start a new one :|

1055T = 2.8GHz, 3.3GHz Turbo (3 Cores), $199
1090T = 3.2GHz, 3.6GHz Turbo (3 Cores), Unlocked Multi, $299

Both AM3/AM2+ compatible.

I can see turbo messing up overclockers.

On the Hong Kong thread, some guy has 4.3GHZ using my board, but only on 3 cores, the other 3 are 800MHZ..
Lame.

u mean (6 cores) not 3 so

I can't see how overclocking with Turbo enabled is bad, in fact sounds perfect for an every day overclock. That is if you can set the turbo settings aswell. You could run a 3.8ghz normal clock with 4.3ghz turbo if the benchmarks are to be believed.

Do they use CnQ aswell?

Why not just overclock to 4.3Ghz instead? :confused:

Because it kicks 3 cores down..
Why run 3 at 4.3GHZ and 3 at 800MHZ?

So you have to stress test all the cores to make sure they stable while turbo is running. Im sure once you find which of the core's is the weakest in that department getting it stable in overclocks will be very easy. Or you could just turn it off if its too much hassle lol.
