lol, I always get that. I'm doing some intricate and difficult combo with Akuma and mess up the timing slightly on one of the hits and instantly get hit by a Shoryuken or Tiger uppercut...etc. Like wtf are they doing? Just spamming it the whole time while I'm doing a combo just incase I mess up? So lame.

My Madcatz fightpad i got when SF4 came out has officially died. The d-pad is messed up. Don't know whether to just get with another fightpad or get a fightstick now.edit - Just had a quick look around and an online game shop have pre-orders for the SSF4 Tournament Edition 'S' Stick for £99. Hmmm...

Forget the fightpad, get a stick and be done with it. I was in the same boat months ago, I am glad I learnt to use a stick. I suppose the main reason I was forced to learn the stick was the fact my madcatz pad kept breaking, again and again, and back to madcatz it went again and again. Eventually I got fed up with it.
lol i do that a lot as well, but i am usually the one delivering the random uppercuts or at worst spd from zangief
Been reading this thread for a while wanting to come back to this especially with SSF4 on order - just know when you refer to basics you just dont mean pushing one of the 6 punch/kick buttons.A Sagat who can do the basics really well will probably beat 98+% of the general online population
I doubt i'd do much better but i'm always up for playing better players.
Add me Marge if you're up for it, no complaining about online play though -.-
Damn it depresses me how I just cant the hang of this game at all

By basics, i mean stuff like knowing your anti-air attacks and using them, knowing which pokes are good for your character, not jumping like a flea, applying pressure after knockdown instead of just hanging back every time, knocking your characters basic damaging combos and blockstrings, zoning and spacing.. yea things like that
That's what basics are to me, others may have different things. Eg the jumping thing probably shouldnt even be there, but it's a sign of a really bad player.

Only seen it shopto when I had a quick look at SSF4 pricing - from that review you linked Id rather go for the older TE as I expect its still just as good but cheaper (only the footprint is the biggest difference). No idea about the Round 2 but gonna have a look

Did you use Fraps? I was going to record too but Fraps does tend to have massive files and we played for quite a while might have went over the 150Gb or so free on my drive.
