Re-making Classic games with high res graphics..

Yeah my Amstrad is still somewhere in my parents attic, about 5 years ago I had it out and working, replaying some classics. Too much sentimental value to chuck :) You never know they may be worth a fortune one day! :)

Hrm, wonder if there's a way to hook my CPC up to my PC monitor for the lulz :)

Talking of PS1 - Silent Hill would be a good one - the first one scared the crap out of me with the fog, crackling radio and those flying things!

This would be an excellent idea, i for one would put SOF2 to the top of my list, i have started playing it again recently and must say gameplay wise i still havent found better for a FPS, would be quality if someone just released mods for the games that can accept mods with new textures and the likes.

What? No mention of Serious Sam HD in this thread?

Best remake I've played for sure. :D

Agree, really enjoyed it.

I would also love to see COD1, JK2, UT1, RE1 etc remade with brand new graphics as it can work really well if you keep the gameplay the same.

AVP would have been amazing if it recaptured the feel of the first 2 games without trying to break new boundaries and failing. Sure its marine campaign isn't too bad but it definately doesn't have the same level of dread and fear which the first 2 games provided.

I often wonder why we've never seen a new X-Wing or Tie-Fighter game :(

The original creators of the flight sim series are no longer with Lucasarts, and Lucasarts no longer have much interest in the genre because they don't think there are enough sales in it, when they can produce much more marketable titles elsewhere.
Whilst well loved, space flight sims/arcade style titles are a fairly niche genre :(

There was already a thread like this one before.

I would like remakes of:

Baldurs Gate 1 + 2
Alpha Centauri
Heretic / Hexen
Sonic 1 - 3 + S+K
Gunstar Heroes =D

Actually, Lawrence Holland and co. made some non Star Wars games since then, and according to their website they're working on:

Totally Games said:
* Several original IP projects that continue along our innovating path in action RPGs
* An “everyone” Next Gen project in a new genre
* A Wii and PS2 sports title
* Unannounced PS3 and Xbox Live Arcade downloadable projects

Tie fighter was really good. Space sim with no shields. I completed it a few times. One of the few games back then for me where it was worthwhile to actually get a decent joystick..

Silent Service II was another sim I liked back then. Silent Hunter came along but nowhere near as good as the microprose sub sim... Shame Microprose went bust, they produced some excellent games back in the day...

Would love for remakes of some of their games..

Silent Service II
F1 GP
Knights of the Sky
Microprose Golf...

But then, some of these titles you can kinda get now, just from other publishers..

Silent Service II - Silent Hunter 1, 2, 3 and 4. Less said about 5 the better.
F1 GP - Codemasters are working on F1 2010
Kinghts of the Sky - ?? Isnt' there something like this already?
Microprose Golf - EA has this well covered.

Still top games in the day. Remember them all well.
