The future of Aion

Terrible game, considering everyone went on constantly about how there was no grind, it really was just one HUGE grind.

Another 11,000 bot accounts were banned yesterday.

If you want a real laugh, go and read the forums for the 2 most popular Aion bot programs (if you know what they are)...its utterly hilarious !! :D

People on there screaming blue murder because they got multiple accounts banned, threatening to sue NCsoft and some of the copies of the emails they have sent to NCsoft pretending to be "innocent" are just comedy gold :D

MMO forums certainly are entertaining. I can understand why people sub to some MMOs just to be able to read/post of the official forums.

I just reactivated my account, looking to re roll - Not that I ever got particularly high on release, only 16 as a Ranger. I fancy being a Cleric or a Chanter though, and starting again to get back in to the game properly.

Anyone fancy a re roll project? Or currently levelling an alt?

got to 47 sin til i gave up. Due to bots, lack of support, no ingame gms and extreme lack of end game content. So many friends left the game too. its a shame becuase the environments are so cool. especially on the asmo side. Maybe the 1.9 patch will sort things out but i very much doubt it. and they keep nerfing sins. who have a hard life anyway in the abyss :P

if u quit after lvl 16 things have not changed much lol. prob be worse now as servers are so barren in newbie areas. and when u hit say elten. lvl 50 asmos guard areas so u cant do ****

Getting rid of the endless grind by any chance?

Most MMOs are a grind of some kind. Interestingly even quite a few non-MMO games are now implementing grinds. Although they call them "achievements" , so that makes it all fine.

I dont mind a grind in a game, though to be honest I hardly ever grind anyway, I tend to play games for other reasons....long since forgotten by the masses, like RP and Socialising. A bit like good old p&p dungeons and dragons from 30 years ago, had some great times playing that. Although all D&D was on paper , was a grind.

All depends on how the player plays. Just a pity too many players have forgotten such things.

Was fun while it lasted, grinded all the way to lvl 50 then owned the server with the best guild available at the time, it was fun but the game has so many flaws it's just crazy.

Because of Aion I am now staying away from all future mmorpgs for good.

It's about hiding the grind though, games like LOTRO hide the grind superbly (on the whole) whereas games like Aion just throw it at you and tell you to get on with it, not surprising it appears to be failing.

Yes, there is a lot of grindy MMO's out there but Aion really did throw it in yer face a bit much. A shame as up til about lvl 20 I was quite enjoying the game, after that it gets very monotonous. Also the community was not very nice in my experience, which ruins it too....another MMO relegated to my FAIL shelf gathering dust :p

Problem is, all MMO's require you to group now, what happened to solo play??!!

Strangely I find almost the opposite, most of the MMOs that I've played in recent times you can solo virtually to max without ever needing to group or talk to anyone.

Which I think is one factor in the reduction in community quality in MMOs. Most of the MMOs that I have played which had the strongest quality communities encouraged you to group (like UO, Daoc, EQ etc)
