*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Did my credit check and found out what the problem was.

Woman in charge of one account and the apparent registration onto the electoral role (which she apparently didn't do), but she did and am now on 2.

Stupid ****ing women!

7 days from receiving the phone i would imagine...well thats been the case with me and Tmobile...wasnt so sure last week but yesterday my time ran out but didnt matter as i decided to keep the phone.

Having the Desire and my BB9700 is truly awesome...both fit my needs superbly, teh Desire for the fun stuff ie keeping me occupied on my journey into work and the 9700 for the more serious stuff ie emails/texts and calls.

I emailed VodafoneUKDeals on the 17th, got a call back about 10mins ago, he said as I was an existing customer he could only offer me 18mnths at £30pm for 600mins + Unltd txts + 500mb Data.
I told him I'd heard you could get better deals as a new customer, and mentioned I was happy to change my number and ended up getting 600mins + Unltd txts + 500mb Data for £20 for 15mnths and £30 for the last 3mnths. So starting a new contract saved me £150! Guy on the phone seemed very friendly and enthusiastic, think he was called Ian.

I've just flashed my Orange branded Desire to the generic ROM. So much better now with all the branded rubbish removed.

My Jersey order for screen protector 2 packs now says "order taken" never seen that before :/

I haven't checked mine yet but I had that same status(order taken) last week when they had the release date as the 13th, but then the release date changed to 21st and the order status changed back to preorder. going to keep an eye on it to see what it does this time.

This is just so bizarre, I emailed them as well and got this back:

I'm unable to help you with the upgrade of the contract as we at customer service department don't deal with the deals and offers offered by the Upgrades Team.

As you are eligible to upgrade your contract, please call our Upgrades Team on 191 free of charge from your phone or 08700 700 191 from a landline and select option 3 and then 1. I’m sure our advisors there will be glad to discuss all the deals that best suit your needs.

Alternatively, you can visit any Vodafone Retail Store to upgrade

Makes me think my email went through to customer services by mistake? But I followed the link given and included MM135 in the subject line?

I want the deal you've been given :(

I am sooooo tempted getting this, the only thing holding me back is the limited space you get installing apps. Is there any news about letting apps being run from the card without using 3rd paty apps?

I would want that deal as well because I don't fancy a 24 month contract. I'll give them an email later on and see what I get back.

Are you willing to take a new contract rather than upgrade? (You'd have to change your number) because that seems to be how you get the better deals (it's not very fair on existing customers :()
Probably just a typo but the email subject should be MMM135

I'd probably try and contact them on twitter mate, they seem to reply a lot quicker on there from what I've seen.

Also the guy kinda mentioned he'd risk getting his hand slapped for encouraging people to start a new contract rather than upgrade, so maybe the "official" line is that they can't offer the deal I got if you only want to upgrade. Have you actually spoken to one of the VodafoneUKDeals guys on the phone?

I contacted them via Twitter, then emailed with the subject header.

Receieved an email today requesting a contact number. Should have added that in the first place really. :o

Looking promising though. :)

Yup same thing happened to me, it needs to be MMM135 in subject for the eForum queue, otherwise you end up with the usual bunch of monkeys.
