ok here are a few before and after pics with the mods (HDTP + Hi Def) switched on and off during play (shift-F12)

I still have the boxed release on my shelf. Only ever installed it once, walked off a boat, got killed by an ED-209 look-a-likey, tried again got past then got killed again. Never tried to play it since.

Is it worth going back to then?

It's definitely worth playing again. I think the third instalment should be on its way sometime this year.

Cant seem to get it running in full screen. Tried the in game option to toggle full screen, no luck. Anyone know what im doing worng?

Got it working by changing it to software rendering. Next question whats the best resolution to use? My native is 1920 x 1200.

^sums up my thoughts pretty well.

DX2 is worth £1.50. You can't even buy a glass a coke in some pubs for that. Judged on merit it's a good game.... to be honest, I preferred the early levels, even if you only play them for a few hours that's still OK value for money.

I had the benefit of playing DX2 before DX1 so I went into it with an open mind. One of these days I'll try it again, the story should mean more to me then.

Shouldn't need to do that. Maybe get an updated rendering dll from here: http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/

If you edit the .ini file it should run in 1920x1200, I guess it will make the HUD really small though

There are plenty of great things to do in Deus Ex even after you're bored of playing it through. The console opens up a ton of options, I made the flamethrower fire throwing knives once, that was fun and the deadliest stealth weapon in history

Also the great art of grenade climbing (seriously google it) seeing what buildings and stuff you can climb is pretty fun.

Got Ghand was a great read at planetdeusex.com back in the day as well

Deux Ex is only a classic it had a lot going for it and tbh still does today if you haven't done so all ready get it NOW.
