In my room - Ive got my desk with my macbook on that im obviously using now, and 2 wardrobes behind me. Thought there was somebody in them as they were slightly ajar - absolutely pooed it.

You guys ever had a short moment of terror like that? (doesnt have to be wardrobe related!)

P.S Red bull is bad...

I was in the house on my own and 2 friends broke in for a laugh (as you do!). They crept around and I didn't know they were there at all. Which ever room I was not in, they turned the TV on and set it to 'static' and set the sound to maximum, just 'white noise' basically.

It's amazing how scary it is at 2.00am when your electrical equipment is turning on itself and going nuts when you think you're completely alone. Especially when you unplugged it from the wall 5 minutes ago when in that room, and now somehow its back plugged in, back on 'static' with full volume!!!

I had a clothing rack bought for me when i first moved into my house. I had placed it on just the inside of my bedroom door, so as you enter the room its the first thing you see.

In the dark one night i came up stairs to find a man standing there staring straight at me as I entered my still dark bedroom. My heart dropped into the bottom of my stomach and I actually jumped and turned on the light.

My room mate had draped her dressing gown over the side of the rack, Put her boots at the bottom of the rack, and placed a small Jack Sparrow rucksack on top of the rack. Yes...in the dark I **** BRICKS.

It was so scary that even now a year later, I'm able to remember it to the point i've wrote about it on here now :o:(

Yeah, got a similar memory to wannabedamned... Walked into my room and somebody had drapped a jacket over the clothing rack I have.. with a beanie hat on top and some boots below. Walked in... noticed it - and slammed the door back shut. Decided I'd give it 10 seconds, if there's sound there's somebody moving about - if not... it's probably my imagination.

Needless to say I did go back in there however armed with a knife and fork... that'll show the b******.

No. But once I heard my front door get banged really loud at about 3am. So I grabbed my P99 airsoft gun and a kitchen knife and went to investigate.

Yeah, had something like that OP. Was awake for 3 days with no sleep and red bull after red bull. Shadows kept turning into spiders and crawling in my periphery vision. Nearly crapped myself going down stairs to the kitchen. :s

My absolute worst "moment of terror" was when me and a friend made a movie in windows movie maker I think it was. Encoding the video was taking about an hour so we went downstairs to watch a film, half way through the film we paused it only to hear voices coming from upstairs. We both absolutely bricked it....

Turned out, once the video finished encoding, it started playing automatically. I was ready for dropping to my knees and crying. Proper alpha me. :p

Went past my brothers room once with the light off and he had left his motorcycle leathers hung up from his wardrobe which is infront of his door which was open. Almost had a heart attack as I was the only one home

i was once asleep in the morning when i was around 15 years old (in the house alone) when i heard what i thought was the patio door beeing opened, i went down stairs to investigate and found someone just stepping through the door.

still half asleep and a bit shocked to find someone i just said "what" and the guy ran off lol.

to this day ive never found out who it was and back then i was friends with all the local criminal elements and everyone knew to leave my house alone so ive always wondered where the guy came from.

What were you going to do, eat the burglar?

I can remember one from ages ago, must have been about 15 years old. I've never told anyone about it before because its completely ridiculous and frankly, embarrassing.
It was early afternoon and I was just about ready to crawl out of bed. I could hear my older brother downstairs moving about, on his own I assumed.
I then heard the sound of the front door being opened, followed by what sounded exactly like someone shouting up the stairs "SIMON HELP ME" whilst being strangled.
I lay in my bed frozen in terror, as I had instantly come to the conclusion that someone had walked into my house and attacked my brother, possibly even killing him. This was followed by silence, so after what seemed like an hour (more like 20 seconds) I also imagined that the burglar/murderer somehow knew I was upstairs and was waiting for me to come down.
Something had to be done, I couldn't just lie there forever. I was browning myself at this point, but I managed to pluck up some courage and quietly got out of bed and walked to the top of the stairs, picking up 'weapons' as I went.
As I stood wearing only my boxers, armed with a small metal pole from my crappy dumbells and a can of Lynx Africa (to spray in the burglar's eyes), I debated whether I should creep down the stairs and launch a surprise attack, or just charge down full pelt screaming like a lunatic.
Being the man I am, I decided to creep down the stairs all gentle and then peered round the corner as slowly as possible to see into the living room.

I then quickly came to my senses and felt like a complete lemon when I discovered that there was nobody else in the house. As I later found out, my brother's mate had been downstairs with him. The sound of the front door opening was actually them leaving the house.
On further thought, I realised that my brother's mate had shouted something up the stairs to me in a silly voice as they were leaving. My imagination did the rest :o
