New Jaguar XJ

I had a scan at both an XF and XJ in our local dealers last Thurs. Both are stunning on the inside and I love the looks of the XF.
The pics of the XJ really don't do it justice. The ones I'd seen to date made it look like it had an arse based on Jennifer Lopez. In the metal it's much more svelte than that.

Fully digital dash looks awesome. LCD in the centre is pretty clever too, driver and passenger can watch different things on it, i.e passenger watches a film, driver has the sat nav!

My Girlfriend was lucky enough to take one out last week (she works for JLR) and was pretty impressed with it, although she didn't get to drive the SV8 just the 3.0 Diesel but said it really didn't handle like the size of the car it is.

I think Moeks on here had the last beautiful shaped Jag (350), these ones just look "impressive" to me, not beautiful as Jags once were.

As above really, it is great to see Jaguar producing some fantastic cars after going through a 'stale' patch in the late 90's, a big well done to Ian Callum & Mike Cross I feel.

Indeed, I may have another one some time, but if I do, it'll be super-charged :) ...and hopefully green with cream leather and 20" alloys. That's what I really wanted but couldn't afford when I bought my XJ8. It's quite easy to find very well looked after Jags of that shape (X350) now for reasonble money, so plenty of time for that.

I think 350s and 308s will start to climb in value in time to come, because they are the last of the classic looking Jags, decent ones anyway.

I actually think the X308 is the best looking of all externally, it's got more svelte lines than the X350, it's lower and sleeker.

You can buy a nice X308 XJR now for about £5-£6k ...although it isn't such as good car as the X350 and will seem a bit 'old fashioned' compared to the tech-heavy line-up we get today. Still, it does all the important things right and looks beautiful.

I dont like the XJR to be honest, i think the ride is compromised too much to accommodate the performance, still beautiful looking cars though.

Really ? I guess that depends where you are coming from then ...I suppose it might seem a bit firm next to a Sovereign or an SE but compared to most cars it's still a sofa ...albeit a rocket propelled sofa.

I just love Jags for what they were/are, wafters, sofas :)

Cant deny XJR's are fab cars, just not a bit of me. I bought something else for when i want a hard fast ride, but then im 43 now so that is happening less and less :)

When i get in me Jag i just want to lope about and not feel the bumps.

Arhh there is a Jag for everyone, you need a Daimler Super V8 :D ...with shag-pile :D ...super-charged V8 for straightline ooomph and none of the 'sportiness' of the XJR.

Really like the new range.

However they seemed have taken the steering from a Mini Cooper for the XJ!
