Whats everyones veiws on this ssd

Sandforce controller. Very quick.

Comes into it's own when connected to a SATA 6Gb/s connection.

If you have such a motherboard, it's a good choice. If not, i'd recommend a cheaper model (Crucial M225, Intel X25-M, etc).

are you sure this drive uses the sandforce controller? ive not seen it written anywhere, can you supply linky to the info plz

It's not sandforce, it's Microns own controller.

Worth the money if you've got a SATA 6GB/s port, otherwise get an Intel X25-m 160GB and enjoy the extra space.

The Crucial RealSSD C300 is based on a new Marvell controller and its worth it if you have SATA 6GB/s support (to max the SSD speeds) or plan on getting a new Motherboard/SATA6 controller card in near future, if not then a Sandforce SSD or Intel X25-m (gen 2 only as it has TRIM support) are good choices too :)

Not sure what the real world differences are between the Intel X25-M G2 160GB and the Crucial but I can't fault the Intel. One of the best upgrades you can make to a PC now.

Over the weekend I booted up my laptop which is a mirror of my main development machine and it took minutes before I could do anything. On the PC it's up and running in seconds. Post check takes longer than boot now.

Great bit of kit.
