Where did you buy your sofas?

Land of leather.

Paid about £900 for a 3 seater leather recliner sofa, a 2 seater and a recliner armchair.
The big ones like DFS/ MFI wanted upwards of £1500 for the same setup, even with their constant sale prices :D

My wife told me she wanted to buy a new sofa, I said fine wanting to avoid involvement. She said by the way it's £3,500 and comes from Laura Ashley. That got me involved and 30 mins later I had bought the exact same sofa (the sample made for Laura Ashley by the manucacturer) new through egay for £700.

Do you mind linking me the type of sofa you bought?

After hours spent sampling sofas in all the major stores, we have settled on a £900 sofa-bed from DFS.

Only 50% more than we wanted to spend

Bought mine from DFS and had no problems.

We did have a small problem after it was delivered but that was sorted out and all was fine. Don't see where you got this bad advice from about DFS.

lol at suggesting IKEA and Argos over DFS too.

Try sitting on them and compare the difference.

My parents got my sofa that I'm sat on from Ikea, and the one in the second living room is from DFS. Can't fault either of them.

Second hand is the way to go with sofas - most people can't be bothered with moving them, so they depreciate something crazy. A £1000 sofa can be had for under £100 (if you collect) after a few years.

Major bargains in the second hand sofa market.

Emporio homes, get a nice big staff discount as both my parents work there :p (one works in cheltenham, the other more locally in stroud)

Electric recliner brand new would have normally cost me close to £550 for the one i wanted, managed to get that for £350

Nice, but appears to be all leather and I'm interested in fabric. Also, no prices on the website scares me as it appears to sell to be people who doesn't find price to be an issue. I do. :(
