why are jean sizes just wrong for big people!

I'm 6 ft 6 and a 36" waist... I don't have these problems, 36 long from places like Burton/Next fit me perfectly. It's when I visit House of Fraser or somewhere I encounter problems.

OPs leg size is 4" shorter than you. with shorter leg sized jeans comes thinner thighed jeans. OPs thighs might fit in a 36 too but he would be walking all over the bottom of the jeans

Yep. Head down Grainger Street from the Monument, past the top of the Bigg Market, past Forbidden Planet and The Travelling Man (on the right) and it's the last shop on the right (opposite Yates'), just before what used to be the Sports Cafe but is now The Mile Castle.

I've used a mixture of traditional street names, pubs and geek shops to ensure you know where I'm talking about :D

I am sure the one down Grainger Street has closed up shop and moved on. Even the website says the closest store for those of us in Newcastle is now Edinburgh or Leeds xD

i thought it would be easy for guys to buy jeans... how about GAP or Marks and Spencer jeans? My dad can get 38"x29" from M&S. have a look on their website - you can search by inside leg and then waist size.

guys have short legs.... i'm 5"8 with 34" inside leg!! :p

Im 6'4" and roughly 34-36 inch waist and I hate buying jeans!

I've got quite long legs as well sitting down I look just taller than average, so most of my height is in my legs. It's a pain trying to get some fashionable jeans which fit, diesels are too tight around my thighs. G-Star are a pretty decent fit as they are quite loose, but I need other brands I've already got about 5 pairs of them..

probably true most people in newcastle seem pretty small compared to where i grew up in nottingham , maybe all the brown ale caused a growth stunt deformity in the local populations dna :D

LOL true although you could say since Brown Ale was moved from the Newcastle Brewery to the one over in Gateshead and the taste changed, there just aren't as many beer bellies anymore :P

Although I played rugby for close to 10 years before smashing all my ribs on the left hand side put an end to me playing. I was stocky then and I just kept up with the training etc and now I am just the same size as I was then.

I can get into a 38" waist but have to go a size or two bigger just to get over the thighs as I bulked there and most the training I did was on the legs and upper body. I have found the likes of http://www.jacamo.co.uk are alright for sizes for big and tall blokes. Most the time though the biggest leg they will go to is a 38" leg from memory.

I walk past it every day to and from work so it's definitely there - I'll double-check, maybe it's been renamed.

If it is, let me know please :) Work at the other end of town so hardly down that side of town. I know it used to be on the left hand side where the TK Max is now! It could be that its moved further down the street and with me looking for it where the outdoor shop etc is I could have missed it.

It's definitely there - walked past it this afternoon. It's on the other side of the road now and about 200 yards further down the hill.

erm, some clothes are just look better when you lose some weight, you just got to accept that.

a year ago i wore 36/30 jeans, now i can get into 31/30. It's just a fact of life that jeans look better when you are thinner.

Rubbish. Skinny jeans look good on no one. Baggier jeans on skinny legs also look horrid.

im 6'5 and also fit 36/34. I can usually pick up jeans quite easily in Next and Burton. Also Levis and Firetrap seem to fit very well, in fact they're the best pairs I own. You just have to accept that it'll take you a lot longer than most people to find some good pairs.

Boring but worth it in the end.
