I was going to wait a few weeks for it. As I know you have next to no chance to get one atm, due to only a few being out, when they accidental sent a batch out early.

GSM It should work. However, the 3G banding in the US is different to Euro banding.
 
what kind of battery life are people getting now? with 4 hour updates and gps off I'm surviving the day but still on a nightly recharge, is this fairly consistent?
 
guy on xda claiming to of rooted !!! although his english is a bit strange it makes sense .

might even have to sign up to try and translate or to defend him before that lollylost guy trys to claim it as his own! he was having trouble with the steps that this new guys posted as a rar

mines about the same. do use it quite a bit though. its no different to the battery length i got on my satio and omnia

a day and a tiny bit is about as good as it gets for smarthphones tbh

god knows! it has picked out a few faces for me though but ive never bothered tagging them. im guessing if you tag then it saves the face outline and auto retags any similar ones ?
 
I know I have asked this before but what is good about having your phone rooted (same as "jail breaking?)? Doesn't Wifi tethering need your phone to be rooted? To be honest, that alone would be enough to convince me.

In light of all the debate about the display on the X10, I decided to find a definitive answer myself. I went ahead and asked Synaptics, who’s a supplier of touchscreen technologies, and although I didn’t get the answer I was looking for, I got another rather interesting fact. Apparently, Synaptics is the supplier of the display on the X10 Mini and I’ve just been told that it’s a ClearPad 2000 solution, which means it supports dual touch – or in other words the basic sort of multi-touch.

Now… I was also told that Synaptics is currently only the supplier of the technology in the X10 Mini and not the X10 Mini Pro. Why the difference? No idea. By the way, Synaptics isn’t the supplier of the display on the X10 either. Only X10 Mini.

i dont believe that youl get caught though. just like when people brick them during dodgy flashing. i did it with my omnia and just sent it back saying i was updating and my pc crashed


andy , RE the multitouch well some guy on XDA took one apart and theyve been putting product/serial numbers from the screen in google. they found reference to the screen in multi touch patent applications by apple....

guy on OSX the software aint too great. i find it easier to sync my Icontacts/Icalendar with my google account and also sync my x10 with my google account :)
 
I finally got around to debranding my phone this weekend as a result I moved from RF...14 to RF...16 which, albeit only minor updates, has made a significant improvements to the phone. Noticeably the keyboard! Typing is now not frustrating, only efficient.

Serious improvement, makes me wonder why it was released with RF...14 in the first place.

Yup, my bad... question was still valid regarding class differences though.

I not only linked too it though... I ordered one! :eek: But I suppose my Camera needs a large SD card anyway... *phew!*

The phone was released with the R1FA016 update. However, its up to the network carriers to approve each firmware update. So all simfree / cpw phones came with the update out the box.

Noticable improvements though. :D
