Just thought I'd let people know incase there are any more cases..

I installed kb980408 onto my W7 laptop, and it broke networking. Why I have no idea (it has nothing to do with NICs as far as I can tell), but rolling back fixed the problem.

Will do a bit more testing when I have time but just a heads up incase.

Between this and nearly blowing up new equipment by working inside a case while the machine was on, you're not proving very clever at the moment ;).
 
Well, as said, no updates in the last 4 years and all is running fine. I think MS updates are a big con and a bag of worms.

Why update when all is running fine?

I've always kept up to date and "all is running fine" for me as well. :)

Indeed!!

Why bother patching and making it harder for some russian script kiddie to use one of hundreds of unpatched exploits, thus meaning he has just 1 more machine available to him in his botnet as I love spam.
