New T-Shirt

bargainous stuff from Officers Club! good shout that man who linked it!

Might pop a picture up in a bit but Hugo Boss polo shirts with the green label are fantastic, stretchy and fitted, a lot better for the money compared to the standard old Ralph Lauren Polo shirts.

If I do spend above £50 on a T-Shirt it's usually on a Ralph Lauren Polo one which has something a little different (last one I bought has Dubai Golf advertised on it) or some Boss/Lyle & Scott one. Under £50, it's Superdry really, used to get the Diesel t shirts which didnt explicitly say 'Diesel' on them but with awesome patterns. Cant really find them any more though :(

Inspired by this thread, I ordered this yesterday: http://www.threadless.com/product/1211/Liberty

I'm not the type to wear flashy t-shirts but hope it looks and fits alright (looks a bit feminine though :o). I tend to like red and fitted t-shirts anyway.

Well, received mine yesterday and a little bit disappointed.

Not really fitted, feels a bit cheap (thin) and the graphics don't appear as sharp as in the image. The shiny bits look yellow only but I won't know if it really stands out until I try it out.

Might feel better once I iron and wear it though.

Your Demise? Saw them a few months ago... they were **** - lol.

Recognise Black Hole too, I think I may have seen them support someone.

Whatttt? Your Demise are awesome! Blackhole are also immense, seen them both live and they both sound awesome and put on a great show.

The Cancer Bats one off show in London a few week ago meanwhile.....wow!

Some nice Tshirts in here, Off into town to buy myself a new one for tonight. Unfortunately due to this thread I know i'll not be satisfied with what I get.

Small town means im limited to the likes of Burtons, Topman and a shop called Etc(Sell last seasons fashions)

:(

Mine was an honest question, and I'm sure there's an answer. No need to immediately go on the defensive.

Saying "it's personal choice" implies that there are no reasons whatsoever, and we've just become accustomed to putting pointless crap on our clothes.

The "super specialist tyres" tee above is a great example. Seriously, why?

lol, What a douche...May we see your awesome stylish clothes to see where it is we're going wrong.

Yes, I did word the first question in the style of a giant douche. Not sure where my head was at that day. So I'll concede that point, and be less douchey from now on if possible...

Having said that, I still don't "get" why people put these ... random ... things on their clothes. Without being a douche, I'm going to say that I find it fascinating to see the things people wear, seemingly without much cause.

Like I said, I don't get style or fashion, and most of my clothes are plain colours. I just can't get used to the idea of having something printed on that really doesn't mean anything, just for... the hell of it?

I see people walking round with all sorts of stuff on their tops, tees, whatever. I'm not being critical of what they wear, just saying I can't see the reasoning behind it.

Oh and I'm talking specifically about the weird picture stuff. Like skulls, random slogans, pictures of a woman with her coat stuck in a car door, that kind of thing.

In my little world (which is pretty much exclusive to me), things have to have reasons. I'd have to have a very good reason to wear something with a picture on that I didn't personally relate to.

Once again, this is not a criticism of fashion, or me giving style advice (heaven forbid). It's a personal "I don't get it" thing.

And yeah, I totally deserve to be called a douche for what I wrote earlier in the thread. I must have been having a *really* bad day that day.

I guess I should squeeze in an apology for the previous posts in this thread, now deleted, which were frankly just unsubtle trolling, and not really how I like to conduct myself. Sorry :(

:D

In answer to the above - usually the designs, slogans, colours and suchlike serve two purposes - the most obvious and overt is it differentiates you from everyone else, stands out in a crowd etc etc. As a rule, if you wear plain, boring clothes then the simple fact of life is that people will probably view you as being plain and boring. That's not necessarily a bad thing, some people look for people that are dependable, won't spring any surprises, will happily go through life without causing a ripple or standing out from the broad tapestry of humanity. After all, the world needs accountants, right? :p Other people however want to be noticed, or want to find people that stand out from the hum-drum crowds and so they prefer to look a bit different - from having a slogan, or an original design, to shoving 6-inch nails through their faces, different strokes etc.

Prime example - I randomly had a batman & robin 'bubblegum' t-shirt and walking down the street a guy said 'cool t-shirt' and asked me where I got it, then we chatted for a bit, and went on. Did I gain a long-lasting friend? No. Did I have a pleasant unexpected social interaction? Yes. Was I looking for it by putting a t-shirt on with a graphic? No, I wore it because i thought it looked fun full stop, clearly someone else thought so too. Little things etc

In addition to that, many graphic designs are designed to accentuate the human figure and complement the cut of the material - where a plain T-shirt again would look boring, with clever use of graphics you can hide a growing paunch and accentuate a 'V' shape torso on a guy for example.

At least that's my take on it :p
