Gordon Brown's 'bigoted woman' jibe

she questioned him about immigration. thus, clearly she's a bigot in GB's eyes. ;)

depends how she said it doesn't it.

"I'm concerned about the numbers of immigrants etc etc"

or

"****ing nig nogs coming here, what you going to do about it!?"

:o

Palm face as he was listening to his own recording!!

I'll just leave this here :D

Win.

Lot's and lot's of it. :D

Surely it depends on what she said though?

If she stood up and said "how come all these dirty towlheads can come into the country?" then she clearly deserved his response, and he should have said as much as publicly as he could.

We have a new entry for the facepalm montage. Classic gaffe indeed. I'm sure all politicians have had similar thoughts at some time, just not with a live microphone pinned to their chest.

Too vague! what exactly did she ask? Like if she asked "Why are you letting asll these pakis into our country?" or similar, then Gordon is quite corerect in what he said.

You can't call him a failure and incapable of running ther country if he was correct.

The Prime Minister was confronted by Gillian Duffy while visiting Rochdale.

He spent nearly five minutes answering her questions and told her: "It's been very good to meet you."

He smiled at the woman and then got into a waiting car.

However, a microphone picked up his words to an aide as he drove away.

Mr Brown was caught saying: "That was a disaster.

"You should never have put me with that woman.

"Whose idea was that?"

Mr Brown went on: "It's just ridiculous."

His aide then asked: "What did she say?"

Mr Brown replied: "Oh, everything, she's just a sort of bigoted woman who said she used to vote Labour."

She came out with lines like:

"All those Eastern Europeans, coming over here...I mean, where are they coming from!".

So she wasn't exactly bright.

I'm not a Labour supporter but doesn't 'Bigot' means someone who expresses strong, prejudice opinions. If the PM interpreted what she said as that he has every right to call her that.

Class, and he wasn't even elected.....

You never elect the PM, you chose the party (well actually you chose a constituent who chooses a party, depending on if you vote for the guy you think best for your area or if you vote a for a guy regardless of his qualification because he,s i na certain party. If you do the latter can you really complain about them all being crap?) the party chooses the pm.

heh, those brackets sort of got away from me there.

it was a question about local immigration, followed by a question about debt & then another question about something i didn't even catch. the stupid thing is he answered the question with no fuss or drama & off she went satisfied by his answers.

Nick Robinson has said she asked about the levels of European Immigration and if there are links to the rising unemployment in Rochdale or something like that.
