Right Folk, need to rant so bear with me.
I work for a large company but in a small office, normally on my own projects given to me by my MD, a project on going is going a bit **** up and as such I was asked to help with smaller analysis jobs, these turned from doing simple pin calcs to doing a full finite element analysis of a flood control door for a ro-ro (think herald of free enterprise), the other engineer has been quietly mincing around doing his own work while composing the calculation booklet.
He had booked holidays for this week, which isn't a problem but his work wasn't finished so hes been coming in to "complete his work" while I deal with the designers/draughtsmen and other engineers on the job.
So it comes today where I actually find out how much hes done, almost ******** all, and hes left to go on holiday now till next week. Which in itself isnt too bad but it leaves me to complete the full design report to be submitted to class (DNV/Lloyds etc) which hasn't even been started yet, continue the rest of the analysis of the secondary ship structure and re-write any weld calculations we have to do.
Oh and to top it off he's trying to take credit for everything I've done. I've kinda spoke to my MD about this (about job priority and the amount still left to do) but what else can I do apart from taking a huge dump in his morning coffee?
KaHn
