Gordon Brown's 'bigoted woman' jibe

Even if she spewed out the most vile racist stuff, Brown shouldn't have said anything. I don't expect a prime minister to make off the cuff remarks behind people's backs like that..

I hate Labour and I hate Brown. But I don't see the issue. He thought he was in private. We ALL comment on people in private. All of us. Nobody is so perfect they keep such opinions to themselves.

Nick Clegg offers some words of sympathy for Gordon Brown. He tells Radio 4's PM: "If we all had recordings of what we mutter under our breath we'd all be crimson with embarrassment... Gordon Brown has now gone out of his way to apologise. He was quite right to do so, and I think that's that."

doofski sounds very "Polish" what gives you the right to come to my forum and steal our post counts??

I can nearly assure you it isn't, everything with ski is supposed to be Polish ? It doesn't sound Polish at all.

hes gone up in my estimiation for this. she was a moron

''where are all these eastern europeans coming from''

well funnily enough they have came from eastern europe and are doing the more crappy jobs that your grandkids are probably too lazy too do

I agree, reading some of the peoples attitude in here, pretty sure someone here said he refuses to work because of the current ''low'' minimum wage, but he would if the minimum wage would be 8.05 quid ph or so...
The problem is not people coming to the UK to work, at least they work and do something, the problem is lazy people who refuse to work, and companies being forced to pick more willing and productive immigrants than some lazy person who thinks too highly of himself to work. Other examples from mates of mates here show exactly the same, they prefer to sit on a benefit because working would only give them 50 more euros to spend in a month. That is the true problem, people unwilling to work and understanding you always start from the bottom up ( unless you are a lucky rich spoiled kid)...

It is significant because it confirms what biographers have said about Brown for 15 years - he holds most of the public with contempt, he doesn't have much regard for people's (differing) views and he is generally two-faced and deceitful.

i agree. however i feel all the rest of the politicians are the same. only yesterday David Cameron was on radio 1 getting a grilling about his expenses and he was bigging it up about how he had paid it back but he shouldnt have claimed for it in the first place.

im really not sure who to vote for tbh. just wish there was a real alternative to the big 3.

Most of the public (myself included) don't have a flippin' clue about how to run the country. At least he's honest ;)

I really hate the way the media seems intent on getting the views of the "man on the street". They are generally as clueless as myself, so why do I want to hear from them?

I'd rather hear from experts and think tanks. But the news is becoming as much reality TV as big brother these days.

That is the way all the mainstream politicians think. They all have contempt for the public.

To them, if you are concerned about mass immigration, you are a bigot. This woman expressed concern about the level of Eastern European immigration and thus in Brown's eyes she is a bigot.

Nobody should be surprised by this, the politicians don't care what we think or what we want.

Yes your a racist bigot if you speak out even on these forums.

"bigot [ˈbɪgət]
n
a person who is intolerant of any ideas other than his or her own, esp on religion, politics, or race"

I dont really see that as an insult. He definitely shouldnt say it in public, but it was a private conversation after all.

This whole thing is being blown out of proportion. I mean what do people expect, that the Prime Minister has to like everyone and say nice things about everybody? At least he listened to her views and tried to answer her questions. And seriously if any of us had this woman in our face asking us questions which must have convinced Brown that she was a "bigot", would we only call her a "bigot" in private? I think most of us would go further and use language that ALL of the now outraged public use everyday.

People need to get a grip and stop being so sensitive. Just because Brown called someone a Bigot doesnt make any of the alternatives suddenly more fit to run the country.

We are voting for a Prime Minister to come and run the country with some balls, not some fairy guy who is so politically correct that nothing gets done and he thinks twice about anything in case he is going to "offend" someone.

She sounds like a bigot to me, good on him, people are greatly overexaggerating the problems with immigration and it's just turning into racism.
Racists should be outcast the way they outcast people of differing race.

Who gives a monkeys. So what, just because your in charge you are not allowed an opinion on someone?

It was a private conversation!!
