in's and out's of changing your name?

I knew I had left this open for Ridicule :(

I was thinking along the lines of Kyle James or kyle Banks..something like that

I think there is something quite compelling about the things we don't choose - family, name, country of birth - I wouldn't change them for the world.

This is coming from someone who has "Dick" in their surname and was mercilessly 'bullied' over it!
********? ahahaha I'll get me coat.

on a serious note, if my son changed his name I would be deeply hurt and offended. What's the issue with your name?

Nothing wrong with Diplock.

HAHA actually I dont mind, its Diplock  It just does'nt suit me. At the same time I have no idea which last name would compliment my first.

I immediately think of the courts in Northern Ireland when I hear that name. Do you have a middle name that you might use instead? I know a few people who go by their middle name rather than their given name.

My other half wants to change her name to Hendricks as she likes the Gin so much .

Does she look anything like Christina Hendricks? If she does then I'd be sorely tempted to let her change her name to anything she wanted.

I never understand this, I wouldn't change my name. Even though I get called my middle name instead of my first name. Damn confusing parents.

Diplock sounds like a brand name, keep it, you never know you might find that Diplocks become the world leader in security or tupperware freshness.

Think of your family's history, surely that'll inspire some liking into your own name. :)
