Currently gaming running 2 22" screens. gaming on only one at 1680x1050(60Htz).

22" just isnt big enougth for me now and i dont have room for a 3rd 22". So time has come to upgrade the one i game on in size, spec me a 27" screen. mainly used for gaming so idearly would like a better refresh so im not capped at 60fps with vsync all the time, Ghosting is a no no and colours still have to look good.

Budget is currently £400 but if its going to make all the diffrence i can wait amonth and spend £800

Yes, and it's a really nice monitor, trust me :)

I love it so far, especially the fact that it's 16:10 instead of 16:9, those kind of monitors are somewhat hard to find today.

It doesn't have a TV tuner, but if you don't mind that then I would totally recommend it.

Is this monitor useable up close on a desk or do you have to sit a bit further away for the best effect?

Nice a few more questions,

Is there any noticable input lag or ghosting?
Will it look good in the dark?, my current screen you can see a glow along the edges of the panel due to the back lighting i guess
Is the screen a Matt or Gloss finnish?
Whats refresh rate has it got when running at native rez?

Thanks for the feedback so far

Hmm the bleeding realy is putting me off, seems hit and miss, sometimes getting a good one and others not.

Other then that from what i have seen its a pritty good quality screen, see here.

To take the change or just have to wait untill there is some better 16:10 screens for this size..

I'm currently using a Dell Ultrasharp 27" which I love, some people complain about the light bleed on that too but I haven't had any huge problems with it to speak of.

It's awesome for gaming although I sit a little too close (have to actually turn my head to see stats at the top corners of the screen). And also a quick search on the shopping section of a popular search engine gave me prices running anywhere between £600 and £1000.

Is'nt it a new screen now so that the light bleed is'nt a problem anymore?

Yea whats going on?! the new Hann.G 27.5" came out recently before that there was the Hanns.G 28" which was commented on about the back light bleeds. I guess the product ceased due to the amount of back light issues.
@Culinia - Dont refer back the 28" monitor when u have the 27.5" or vice versa, sort it out!!

Cant find any current reviews of the new 27.5" will look out for them though.

both screens (old/new) are 27.5" viewable

Just got mine, its huge! my 22" looks so small now.

0 Dead pixals, good or it was going back in the box before i even tested it.

I havnt got a cam here right now to take pics, but there isnt any notisable bleed, compared to my LG W2252TQ its a masive improvlemnt.

Played a few rounds of MW2 so far on the lookout for any input lag or ghosting. and none what so ever.

The screen as stock is way to bright and was hurting my eyes just finding a calabration website to sort it out. But now its great, im sure il be purchasing another one pritty soon to replace my other tiny 22".

Anyways back to MW2, il try get some pics up soon.

ignore the quality, my iphone sucks with the light, i carnt take a pic of bleed due to it just looking orange? lol

Both 16:10, (1920x1200, 1680x1050)

Wow..that looks huge next to the 22" !

You need to take a pic of an all black screen to notice the bleed. View a black image in fullscreen in mspaint for a quick and easy test.
